Two Under 2

Looks like I will be joining you...

I EBF and take the mini pill but still got a BFP on a home pregnancy test yesterday.  I got a period with my first pack of pills and nothing with this pack so I thought I would POAS....not really expecting to get a positive.  I'm in shock and totally freaking out.  I'll be going to the clinic today to get an official test done.

We wanted two kids but not 2 under 2 let alone 2 under 1.

I'm hoping for the best but so scared.  I just want to do right for DD and don't know if I can do it!

Help me calm down...

  • It will be ok. There are many women on this board with 2U1... We are working on 2U2... My manta at the moment is:

  • I have 2u1 and found out when ds1 was the same age. It is very scary at first but you will adjust so much before lo2 comes along and lo1 will be so much older and different. I BF ds1 till he was 8 months and started supplementing at 6 mo so that's possible too. You will do great. Focus on the advantages.

  • Mine will be 14 months apart. I am totally freaking out. DC1 is a girl and I just found out today DC2 is a boy which I am thrilled about! I'm scared of the two little ones at once. I have already started looking for strollers and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

  • The same thing happened to me! DS1 was 3 month old, I was EBF and on the Mini Pill. We were in complete shock. It took us 4 years to get pregnant with DS1 along with some infertility help. Although we were in shock, we feel so blessed to have 2 beautiful babies when thought we might not have any! It takes a few weeks to get use to the idea, but you will be so happy in the end! Good Luck!
  • I have a six month old and I am pregnant too!  It is starting to sink in and I am accepting it.  Scared as hell, of course!  But starting to get excited!
I think initially I was traumatized. Now we are working twice as hard to get baby girl sleeping through the night and in her own crib!

  • You'll be okay... You're having "Irish twins"!

Another positive spin.. my sister had my nephews 17 and 18 years ago at 11 months apart!!!  Each year they are the same age for 2 and half weeks before the older one has his birthday.  It has been great for them.. always having a close playmate.. good for her to have them developmentally similar... same sports teams... etc.. Everyone always mistakes them for twins.

    You'll get through it.
