And my point is that you are acting as if it is unreasonable for the ladies on this board to expect that you do your own research before posting a question. Why, exactly, is that wrong? And honey, you haven't seen vicious. TTGP is nowhere near what it used to be.

Believe it or not some of us actually like the board the way that it is. I like the realness, the no BS and the well-placed snarkiness at times. It makes the board entertaining, which is part of the point. If I need support, I'll see a therapist or call my friends and family.

I can handle being flamed if I say something stupid or rude because I am not a wimpy pansy. If you are sensitive and thin skinned then this isn't the place for you. Find another board. Simple.

The incessant whining is grating. Stop crying and move along.

Srsly. I need to lower my expectations.

The HPT directions are the WORST! Who can understand those things anyway? One line means not pregnant and 2 (no matter how faint) means pregnant? Whaaaat? Makes NO sense.

I think TTGP is a mix of the following:

People who are new and hoping to learn from others, most of them are smart, but not when it comes to TTC so they are trying to inform themselves and do so by reading threads, asking questions and consulting Dr. Google. Most of them will get pregnant pretty quickly and move on

People who have been around a bit, and are happy to help. They may not respond to every thread because they get bored answering the same question over and over. They understand where the people in the first group are coming from so they answer questions when they are in the mood or when they think they can offer insight.

People who have been around a bit and think that it's a license to be rude and intolerent of the first group. I liken these people to old hound dogs laying on a porch, barking at nothing. They just like to bark, and they've been here awhile so they think they've earned the right to bark. If it bothers you, ignore it, you aren't going to make the old dogs stop barking. - I should add, sometimes, young dogs see the old dogs barking and get excited and start barking too. This is amusing to watch, but not worth getting to invested in.

People who are new/completely clueless, but feel that others should bend over backwards to help them make their dreams come true. They get upset by the 2nd group not immediately answering their question because it has been posted 10000 times in the past 24 hours and completely bent out of shape by the sound of the barking dogs. They will either leave in a fit or flip out and tell everyone that they suck at life and are big meanies.

I hope you are in the first group, if you think you are in the last group, don't waste time, move onto a site with fewer hound dogs like babygaga. Good luck!

This is a good interpretation of the board, well put.

OP- I hope you stick around and lurk a bit to get a feel of the board for yourself. The ladies here are very welcoming and will answer your questions if you cannot find them on your own. Some of us have built personal relationships with one another and help each other that way. But, there are a lot more here that just lurk and are still able to learn what they need to learn or get the entertainment they need for the day. With all that was said, welcome and good luck.

Been lurking on this board and a wee bit on Babies on the Brain, but don't yet have a great sense for the vibe on either. Thoughts??
