I am not even starting stims until Jan 15th but I am really having a lot of anxiety about it. We would only be able to do one round of this and maybe if we have any frosties we would be able to try that but we are already broke from different treatments. I am just so nervous for some reason that it will not work for us and even if it does work I am terrified that we will m/c again. DH is very relaxed and can just sit back and not worry about it. I really have been fine until now. We are going to Disney Jan 2-9th to give ourselves a nice vacation before we start everything. Anyone have any suggestions to help with the anxiety?
Re: IVF Anxiety.. any suggestions?
My best advice is to try and take it one day at a time. You think now you'd never be able to do another round, but you never know. If push came to shove, if you had to do another round, you might find away.
BUT, that's getting ahead of yourself. Hopefully this one will work! I think all you can do now is put one foot ahead of the other and have faith that someday you'll be a mom one way or another.
Meditation/relaxation exercises help too. Check out Ali Domar.

I am definitely with you on the IVF thing. We are also starting soon, Jan 12th. And I am overwhelmed with excitement, anxiety, and absolutely scared to death. We also are tight on money and are financing one round of IVF. We are already stretching it with this one round, we wouldn't be able to afford to go through it again. It's great that you are going on a little vacation right before. I am thinking of doing a yoga class soon to help with the anxiety. Whatever you can do to get your mind at ease. But it is easier said than done, I know. I love reading and have forced myself to put away the fertility and pregancy books and focus on reading fun novels. I was also watching the show, "Guiliana and Bill" (maybe you are familiar with it) and my DH suggested I stop watching things like that. My plan is to try not to obsess about it and focus on doing other things I love to do.
I wish you the best of luck, as we will probably be going through it all at the same time. Baby dust!
I was feeling this exact same way before my first IVF cycle and I have to tell you that the anxiety leading up to IVF is MUCH worse than the actual cycle itself. I think those fears are very common given the emotional, financial, and physical cost of IVF and all you can do is take it one step at a time. Making it through each step individually was much easier for me to handle.
Good luck and try to relax (terrible advice huh?) and enjoy your wonderful vacation!
