My husband and I wanted to begin TTC in January, so I came off of the pill in November. My last period was November 11th. Since then, we've been just kind of winging it--not necessarily trying, but not preventing either--until my body gets back on track.
I'm a little bit frustrated because we want to begin actively TTC, but since I haven't had a period since November, I have no clue what my body is doing. I read up on charting and began doing that last week, but it can't give me much information yet either. I think that I ovulated last month based on what I've read about cervical fluid... but still no period yet. My body is behaving kind of strangely--headaches, nausea, sore boobs, spotting a couple times, etc. I guess that its just getting used to being off the pill.
I'm just looking to see if anyone has similar stories and talk to others who are TTC. If you were on the pill for awhile, how long did it take for your body to regulate? Is there anything that I can do to make it regulate faster?
Good luck to everyone!

I have been off BC since October and so far I have gone back to regular cycles. However, my friend went off BC and didn't get AF at all before becoming pregnant. The most important thing I have learned is that everyones body is different. Some women regulate right away some don't.
Keep taking tests until you reach 60 days with no AF. Read Taking Charge of your Fertility and the newbie info. I don't think there is anything you can do to regulate yourself any faster then what your body is going to do anyway. GL!
Welcome!
I went of BC in September, however didn't start TTC till this month. My cycle was normal right away and has been 28 - 30 days ever since. I did notice that I had very similar symptoms to you though (except an absence in AF) when I first went off BC, sore breasts, feeling sick, and such, but that regulated after a month or so.
Good luck and hope you find out what is going on soon
Thanks for the responses!
FertilityFriend is the website that I started charting with last week. I was on the pill for 8 years, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I went on it originally because I was having periods that lasted 8-10 days every two weeks, which isn't a "normal" regular, but was regular for me if that makes sense.
I took a pregnancy test a couple weeks ago after my December period didn't show up, but it was negative. I just ordered a bunch online (they're so expensive in the store!!), so I guess I'll take another when they get here if AF hasn't showed up yet.
I know I just need to be patient... I just hate not knowing what my body is doing! Thanks for the advice

I went off BCP almost a year ago after being on it for 8 years. My cycles after that were "normal" in that I was getting AF every 28-35 days. However, had I not been charting I wouldn't have realized that I wasn't necessarily Oing each time, on time. Usually, my body wouldn't get around to Oing until day 25 or so, and then I'd get my period at the "normal" time anyway. My first month off BCP I'm pretty sure I didn't get a chance to O at all before AF kicked in. I think it took about 6 cycles for my body to figure itself out.
I'm glad you've started charting...it definitely helps when you at least know what the heck your body is doing. Hopefully you'll get your AF (or BFP!) soon so you can get back on track.
I was on BCP for 12 years and came off in April. Since then I had two 30-ish day cycles, then about four 22-ish day cycles, and since have finally seemed to normalize to 27-ish day cycles (this will be my third one, given I make it to 27 days)
So, things have changed a few times for me, and I'm GUESSING I'm final back on track again- it took me a handful of months. Like PP's said, everyone's bodies are different, so give it some time and see what happens! GL!
I totally feel your frustration! I went off in September, had what I guess was withdrawal bleed, then didn't get AF for 70+ days. Doc prescribed Provera to kick start my cycle... then I got AF, had a 26 day cycle, and got AF again on my own. I'd never been so glad to see red!
So, we've been humping like bunnies this month in hopes of getting KU, and while I'd be sad to see AF in a couple weeks, I'd also be a little relieved that things are truly back on track.
Hang in there, and like the ladies said, if you haven't had a period in 60 days and your pregnancy test is BFN, call the doc.
GL!!!
