Question on OPK

ok so I got a Big Smile yesterady on my digital OPK at 3pm.... we humped it out last night.... so today I tested again just to see and it was negative- so does that mean my ovulation is over??? i thought the kit gives you a heads up that you can O in 24-48 hours.... im confused. sorry if its a newbie question- just want to see what you ladies think?

A +OPK indicates a surge in LH. You may ovulate in the next 24 to 48 hours. Temping is the only way to confirm that you are actually ovulating. Do you chart on Fertility Friend? I highly recommend it Good luck!

ETA: If you aren't temping yet, keep having sex for a few days after a +OPK.

Did you wait the full four hours before testing again today? Just wondering if your urine was diluted. Or maybe you caught the tail end of your surge yesterday. Are you charting? Thats the only way you'll be able to confirm ovulation. Either way it sounds like your timing might have been good! I would have sex again today just so you're covered though. GL!

Sounds like you did catch the tail end of a positive OV. I've takin them 2x a day and would get a negative in the morning, positive at night and positive the next morning and negative the next night.. so I always took that from the first positive result you get your going to release that egg in the next day so start humping it out.. because sperm can last up in your area for a day or longer depending on how strong his swimmers are.. so the best thing you can do is just to make sure you do it each day.. and sometimes ladies say "Legs up" after the deed is done... to let it marinate! GL!!

Indifferent Please, try to hold off on advice-giving until you read the newbie link. I'm not trying to be rude, but also wouldn't want anyone to get a UTI because I kept my mouth shut. Thanks!

Yes Yes, This.

My Dr. told me that would do more harm then good. It increases your chances of getting a UTI. She told me that any of his swimmers that are worth while will already be on their way by that point. Any fluid that comes out afterward is really just mucus amd dead sperm.

I dont temp- if I get a BFN this cycle I will start next cycle to make sure- I will just keep humping it out for the next 2 days or so to be sure.... Thanks!

I did wait the full 4 hours- I peed at 8:30 this morning and then waited til like 1 to pee and test.

AND its so weird cause i think i totally just caught the tail end of it- I have been using the OPK at 8am for the past 25 days- THEN i read that you should be testing w the OPK b/w 11am-3pm >>!??!?!?! (according to "what to expect Before you're expecting") so i freaked and tested yesterady at 2pm and got the Big Smile

Im not charting- i will starting next month if I get a BFN. But yes I will have sex today and tomorrow to be sure. THANKS!!!
