Is what I got from in laws. They are very affluent people and are always dressed so nicely! I, on the other hand, like to wear what is comfortable and don't like name brand things because I more than likely will ruin them in one way or another! So now that I have all of these nice things, I feel like I have to wear them whenever I see in laws which is pretty much every weekend. Another problem I have is that I suck at putting outfits together and again just prefer hoody and jeans and tennis shoes. Lol, I know there are much worse things in life....just complaining out loud.:)
Re: uggs, coach purse and really nice clothes....
This is the worst post ever. There are alot of women on these boards including myself, going through tough financial times and would kill to be able to afford these items. Complaining about getting such nice gifts is really disgusting to me.
Yea I can understand that. Let me help you - Uggs can be worn with jeans/leggings/sweatpants ad the coach purse can be worn with EVERYTHING! Just wear them with confidence and you can pull it off.
Maybe you do. Just because we become mothers doesn't mean we should walk around like a hot mess all the time.
:eyeroll: Anyone hinting about how I look could seriously shove it. If I want to look like sh!t, it's my business. FWIW our best sex happens when DH comes home from work and I'm a hot mess. I'm sure some meddling ILs would love to hear that. lol
This. For sure.
I wear my coach purses with anything and everything!
If my ILs wanted to give me nice stuff to wear (if it was actually nice stuff), I'd surely put them on, throw on some make-up and fix my hair.
Oh FFS. These gifts would be useless to me as I wouldn't use a coach purse or wear uggs. One year, I received a $250 spa certificate. That's totally NMS and I gave it away. Plus all of the OP's responses were light-hearted. Adjust your disgusting meter. Seriously.
Now we're really talking ::eyeroll::
I suppose you wear birkenstocks and patchouli oil too. Hairy legs & pits perhaps? Jingly-jangly ankle bracelets? lol
You are CRAZY! Im am plain jane, and I love Uggs in the winter-and I sport Coach with them..anything at that! I hope you like the clothes though, that can be hard to get someone.
Okay? Good for you. It doesn't mean the OP should.
Uh no. But nice try.
A $250 spa gift certificate and you gave it away? That sounds like the best gift ever. There's generally something that you can find at a spa.
You're really angry for not even being the person receiving Coach & Ugg and not wanting them.
Did you have a traumatic fashion label experience?
If it was Aveda, I'd have been all over it lol. I totally could have stocked up on products. I'd had to have used it on services and I'm funny about people touching me. I took a while to even get used to my acupuncturist. Massages, pedis and such just aren't my thing.
My best friend went and loved it though. She baked me a ton of crepes for giving it to her. Now THAT is my thing;)
Goodness, is everyone sensitive around here lately? I'm not angry. lol
Crepes for a $250 spa gift certificate? You are one nice friend. Next time you get one of those let me know, I'm a whiz at bananas foster crepes!
I didn't even want to go there.
Especially considering Uggs couldn't be any Ugg-lier. I have them, but I wouldn't consider them "fancy dress". lol.
Me too!! hahhaha!!!!
I think what one considers "nice" or "fancy" is simply just a matter of opinion. I don't consider that stuff to be fancy either, but if someone never spends that amount of money on articles of clothing, I can see how she would.
This whole thread is making me LOL. Thanks for the entertainment.

For me, I don't like uggs and would never wear them. And I don't care what label a purse is. Mine get trashed within a week so I'd never use one that wasn't cheap.
This. By no means fancy but definitely expensive for most people. Love Uggs but don't get me started on Coach.
Very stuck up. Many people don't generally spend $150-$200 for one pair of boots, so yeah, in a way it is "fancy." Would you wear them to a nice restaurant? No, but they're not cheap. They aren't exactly $20 boots from Target.
All this stuff is expensive as hell to me. Im from a very low-income area and was oblivious to what brands were even good. A friend of mine gave me a pair of People's Liberation jeans a few years ago and I wore them for a year before I realized they were "designer". They fit as well as my jeans i get from Old Navy.
That being said, if someone gave me some relaly nice stuff, I'd use it. I heard Uggs are amazing.
