All a matter of opinion, but I think it depends alot on the size of your "mamms' so to speak. They don't bother me at all. I am large busted. They hurt my mom, she is tiny.
I had slight concerns when I went in, but even so, I think either way....just checking and seeing everything is okay - it is such a relief to know all is well.
It's worse when you're younger and have denser tissue. Just sayin' And fwiw, the PP is correct when she says it's easier for the bigger busted.
But since I'm older, it wasn't too bad. They "gently placed" the girls, one at a time, on a plate and squeezed them with another plate, took a pic and voila. Juggled a little bit and squeezed again for more pics. They did find some abnormal stuff so I followed up with an ultrasound and biopsy and another mammogram. I've had three this year because of the "stuff" they found, and none of them have been to awfully bothersome.
Re: In honor of J + K...
Pain.
My mom swears men are more gentle, whereas women will treat you more roughly and stuff you in.
J&A - that is exactly why I have a male OB/GYN - they are much more gentle if you get my drift.
YAY! I am so proud of you! Guarantee the squishing will suck, but I had two women who were great. It's weird, but it's important you do it.
