Has anyone tried something like these? How long can you wear this style of pant?
I have 1 pair of jeans that fits really well - it has a 3" or so band on the top. With Andrew I wore them from about 20-24 weeks when I went to the hospital.
Will I need the full band support later on? And if so, at what time? (Is it worth buying a pair of the kind above at this point?)
Also, I saw the roll panels at Old Navy - how are those?
any other suggestions?
Re: maternity jeans
I wore the first kind my entire pregnancy too. (though I admit I never got very big - both kids were 5lb-ers) The full panel type never fit on me.
I got tanks that were long to make sure my belly stayed covered. And I was happy to find that the low pants fit well PP too. (mine had adjustable tabs inside)
Everyone's different, of course, but I could not wear that first kind in my 3rd tri.
I hated the roll panels because the fabric would get bunchy or roll down when I didn't want it to. Plus, it was warm weather for me later in my 3rd tri and I would get SO hot.
My hands-down fave were these, from early 2nd tri all the way through the end. I got them with a 40% off coupon but honestly, I think they were worth full price,
For some reason, I only like full panel maternity jeans. I prefer the demi panel for work pants. Weird, huh?
I cannot do the under belly ones because they feel like they're riding so low my ass is hanging out. I don't think I'd care for the roll panel because of bunching up.
The ones I have sort of look like that - about a 3-4" stretchy band but not a full belly band.
Thanks everyone!
I think it depends on the person and the fit.
I wore the full panel and the demi throughout my pregnancy. Shortly before I delivered I wore a pair of the low raise ones (from Gap) too. The only problem was that by the end of the day, it felt like my butt was hanging out when I leaned over as someone mentioned above. I liked the low rise in terms of comfort, but I didn't wear them often because they were annoying once they stretched out.
