So I made a cake and iced it with a homemade cream cheese frosting. I just realized that the cake has now been sitting out since this afternoon. Do you think the icing has gone bad since it hasn't been refrigerated? I googled and found a mix of opinions. Some say it should have been refrigerated and others say the sugar acts as a preservative and the cream cheese won't go bad when left out. Anyone here know for sure?
