Success after IF

back from l&d

wow what a whirlwind.  Def not in labor at this point.  Not dialated, so the blood is just from my thinning cervix... weird.  The dr at the hospital (wasn't my actual dr) said it was possibly bloody show, but no one seems to think I'll be in labor necessarily any time soon. Not sure how that works.

I have an appt tomorrow with my dr so I guess we'll just see what's going on and what she thinks.

In other exciting news TWO of dh's co-workers were the one's who checked me.  So there I am with my lady parts hanging out in all their glory and his co-workers are face first getting a looksy.

lovely.

Thanks ladies for all your help! Sorry to be so crazy about all this but I really just don't know what I'm doing here! Stick out tongue  Don't know what I'd do without you!

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Re: back from l&d

  • Oh my gosh I am glad to hear you are okay. SO sorry that it was DHs coworkers checking you... believe me, I know how that goes.

  • Whew!  Good news.
  • I'm glad to hear you are ok.

Don't worry I was clueless too!

  • I am SO happy that everything is okay.  That sounds like loads of fun having two of DH's coworkers checking you out...good times.

The end of your pregnancy is definately a confusing time.  For me, I had the whole "bloody show" and was freaking out because I did not have a clue as to what it was.  I never felt like I lost my MP so I was worried.  Sure enough, 24 hours later, our baby was on his way!  It is just so different for so many people, which is what creates the challenge.

     Please take care!!

It took over four years to be diagnosed with PCOS. We TTC #1 for 18 months, did 5 rounds of Clomid and finally moved onto IVF...which worked! Throughout our IF journey, we suffered 3 miscarriages. We conceived both DD and DS without treatment.

Let's keep bob cookin' a little bit longer.

  • Glad everything is OK.
  • I haven't been on in ahwile - so I probably missed some posts that explained why you went to L&D, but from this post, I'm assuming it was because you were bleeding?

I just wanted to let you know that I started bleeding (more like spotting, but sometimes a lot of spotting) off and on around 30 weeks until the end.  My doc said my cervix was just sensitive, and as it was thining, it was bleeding.

I'm glad to hear you're not in labor yet  :)  Hang in there!

  • Glad everything is okay! I had to laugh when you said how DH's friends checked you. My best friend's DH just finished his residency in OB. When they had their DS (a year ago....) he was working on the OB floor. Her room was FULL of residents when she delivered......she said it was like a fricking circus b/c all of her DH's resident friends wanted to help with the delivery!!

  • Glad you and Bob are okay!

I used to be an administrator at a medical school, so I have had the students and residents I worked with treating me too! I was even an interesting case last year and a 3rd year medical school presented my case at rounds presentation. Nice!

  • I'm glad that you're okay but totally sucks that it was DH's coworkers that got a looksy upon checkin!

  • Ha..ha...you are so funny, Mayday. I'm so glad Bob is still snug and safe in there!! May he shake and bake for a few more weeks until he's born!
  • It's great, isn't it? I'm paranoid to begin with, and just spent 4 days in the hospital after bleeding, but I think for your bob and my little lady, better to be safe than sorry on these things! Glad they said everything is ok.
  • Im glad everything is okay.  But thats really really funny about Joeys co-workers...but hey what can you do when your husbands a doctor??? haha!

  • So glad you are not labor.  You keep that little man in there for a few more weeks now.  Take it easy and enjoy your last weeks of pg.
  • Glad to hear everything is ok.  And don't worry about the co-workers.  I'm sure you're not even their first lady bits of the day.  :)
  • LOL about the co-workers!  I guess that goes with the territory of having a doctor hubby at the hospital where you're delivering!  Glad all is well ... and I bet you're gonna have that baby around 38 or 39 weeks..
    Wheee!
