I have had some serious pressure and pain due to constipation. At my 16 week appt last night my doc suggested Colace.
Just wanted to see if anyone else has used it and what ya'll think? Or if anyone says something else is better!
TIA and Happy Holidays everyone!!
Re: Anyone else taking colace?
Colace is a stool softener. I makes bowel movements softer, wetter, and easier to pass. It's not a laxative, so it doesn't "speed things up." So basically, it works better to prevent constipation than to relieve it once you're already there.
My prenatal vitamins actually have a very small dose of Colace in them, to prevent the constipation that can come with calcium and iron. I have found it works great. No trouble since I switched to this brand. The dose in my vitamins is 50mg, which would be like taking 1/2 a regular Colace pill.
