Intro - Another PCOS

I've been a lurker on the bump for over a year but my husband and I are going to start TTC in January so I wanted to introduce myself an give a little bit of my history. I am Cortney and my husband is Tom. We live in the wonderful city of Pittsburgh (Go Pens!) and have been married for a year and a half. In April I was diagnosed with PCOS and simple hyperplasia without atypia. My gyn put me on BC to regulate my periods (that would typically last longer than a month at a time). After 3 months of being on BC and having regular periods, my biopsy showed that I no longer had hyperplasia. The biopsy also showed that I am still not ovulating. I have an appointment scheduled with a different gyn (one that is better recognized in treating PCOS and infertility) on January 4th. From what I have read on here, I will most likely be put on clomid or metiform. Is there anything that I should know before my appointment or any advice anyone could give? I think the first appointment will be just an informational meeting but I am a little nervous. I am really glad that there is a place for me to talk to other people who are going through the same things - I can already tell that this board will be a great support system!

I hope that your stay is short and sweet! I too am a PCOS'er(?) and I am on 2000mg Met/day and just did my first month of Clomid. I can test on the 29th.

Ask lots of questions, even if you think they are dumb, and include your husband.
