I hate Abercrombie & Fitch. Yes I realize I am 20 years past
their target market and they don't care what I think but the store
smells, it is too loud and the people that work there are dumb and
cannot be older than 12
It also makes me sad that Santa around here now offers fastpass. Patience is for suckers, kids!
My mil asked me to bring hashbrown casserole for dinner tomorrow night. Ok, no problem. Added the ingredients to my list. Then, last night, she texted me to tell me that they are no longer doing ham, and that I didn't need to bring the casserole. Fine, I asked if I could bring anything else. She told me, no, she had it under control.
Fast forward to today after I had done my grocery shopping. MIL texts me again a text that says, "Ok girls. I am stumped on dessert so I need you each to bring something." Ugh. I texted back "This would have been nice to know before I went grocery shopping. I guess I will figure something out."
This irks me because 1) I asked yesterday if I could bring anything. 2) I purposely grocery shopped this morning to make sure I didn't have to deal with the mad dash at the last minute and 3) Now I have to figure out something to bring. They may just be getting a pre-made dessert from dh's work.

Thank you thank you thank you. I was going to post something similar but held back.
My family out and out SUCKS! They are so divided it isn't funny. Uncle isn't talking to my sister, gram isn't talking to the aunt, Aunt is p*ssed at my mom. Goes on and on. I just want to scream at everyone and tell them to put their G*d D@amn big people panties/underwear on and grow the hell up already. They are being so ridiculously selfish that it is just mind boggeling.
I am hosting a lot of the Christmas functions because my house is like Switzerland and stays neutral and I am the only one that can keep everyone in check. Mostly because i have NO PROBLEM putting my foot down and seriously reaming someone out to prevent drama.
I am having a ton of friends and the family that is sane (or close to it) over for Christmas Eve. ~ Christmas Day is another story and will be filled with all the trouble makers. So help me Lord- if someone tries to ruin Christmas- the mama polar bear in me is going to come out.
WTH can DH not do anything! I have gotten everyones lists, done all the shopping, wrapped all the presents, prepared all the menus, done all the grocery shopping, and am currently prepping meals. UGH!

Oh man, I freaking HATE fastpass for Santa. REALLY?!?!?! We were first in line but then I had to explain to my 3 year old why two other families got to cut in front of him. NOT cool.
Stacy- if you need to "run an errand" while your family is there and come over here to cool off, you are welcome to! :-) Nothing is worse than the drama coming to your doorstep and not having anywhere to hide (or be able to leave).
My family has cut others out over the years but we should be relatively low-key. The only thing that bugs me is when my mom asks me to bring something (like dessert) and tells me that she isn't going to make something, I'll show up and she'll have a cake, pie, cookies, etc., making my contribution so unnecessary. I swear she does it because she doesn't want to risk people complimenting something I (or anyone else) does. And then she'll complain about all the work that she was forced to do.
Seriously about the FAST pass? you both have to be joking! The KOP mall has a Fast Pass? That is the most ridiculous thing i have EVER heard of.
MA- thank you. Watch I might take you up on it! Or I might wait and take you up on it next week when the inlaws come to town. That is a whole new ball game. Which leads me to my next vent!
My inlaws send a check for the kids for Christmas. Very nice of them. Yet it is a lose-lose situation. I am damned if I do, damned if I don't. I just can't win. So I sit at the blank thank you card and ponder how much I want to get b*tched at by them by not getting them something else.
Once I put their money towards a membership to the zoo. Figured that would be nice because we can enjoy it all year long (instead of just another toy)- figured FIL would appreciate that. Nope. He b*tched. ::sigh::
So then I said I put Gisele's portion towards a Tag Reader and books figuring it is a toy (not a membership) and it is educational. I tried to explain it a little to him in the thank you card. I got a phone call and got b*tched out. And was told that I shouldn't be worried about her reading. (which of course i am not). Tried to explain it... 15 minutes of conversation ended with me telling him to just buy her presents from now on with his money and mail the gifts because I clearly am not capable of pleasing him (even though I know what will please my kid)
The only vent I have is that I was too lazy to make enough cookies to properly pass out and ate wayyy too many. HAAAAAAA. I am over the family drama - we told people NO this year and I feel great!!!! Nooo, my dear sister, we won't host an awkward dinner with my 2 divorcing parents, your MIL, and your SIL..... instead, we'll eat homemade pizza and cookies and be left in peace. AHhhhhhhhhh!
Anyway, let me know what day next week is good for you. Are we too Alex and Simon if we come together>???
Stacy, I saw it at the Springfield Mall and posted my disgust on FB. Then everyone told me that KOP and CH malls had it too. Unreal
That is just ridiculous. I'll stick with my nice little Plymouth Meeting Mall. We go early in December, during the week, and there has never been more than one person in front of us in line.

lol- i took the kids early in Dec to KOP and we walked right up and sat right down. I haven't been back to the mall since. Nor do i plan on going anywhere near it until mid to late Jan. lol
My only holiday complaint (thus far) is that I am hosting Christmas dinner. So, I am trying to keep the house clean. For the past 2 nights, Jordan has decided to bake, which means that there is then shiit everywhere. DH cleaned up her mess last night because I had gone to bed before she was finished, she went to bed and didn't clean up...and he said he didn't want me to come down this morning to a dirty kitchen. She made cookies tonight and there is chocolate and flour all over the counters, the stove, on the floor, etc. The flour, sugar and several other ingredients are still out and she basically left everything as is when she was done. I've already asked her - twice - to clean up her mess. So help me if I go downstairs tomorrow morning and that stuff is all still out and it's still a giant mess, I am going to put all of the dirty dishes and ingredients on her bed and the minute she gets home from school, I am going to stand over her while she wipes up her mess. It's like this every time that she bakes and I am sick of it. I love her dearly, but she is a slob.

They could be giving things away for free at the KOP Mall this time of year and I still wouldn't go. I've been there at Christmastime (years ago) and those people are insane. There was an almost fist fight over a parking spot. I vowed then and there, never again. Jordan asked me to drive her there on Black Friday. I just laughed and said, "Um, no."
Oh boy am I ever grateful year after year that we fly to Texas where my mother hosts Christmas (DH is an only child with both parents deceased so, we only every celebrate with my family) and caters to US for several weeks! No drama, no stress!
And I totally agree with the A&F comments - walking by that place infuriates me! I swear they pump that shitty cologne directly out into the mall, along with music so loud I honestly don't know how anyone can stand to shop there!
I can't stand how every.single.Christmas, MIL is somehow unable to manage having Chrismtas Eve at her house without some kind of issues. So we all need to bring something (and wind up with WAY too much food for just the immediate family), SIL does her Christmas shopping for her, etc. She puts it on herself, acts like it's a huge burden and then proceeds to proclaim how she loves it. That's because she barely did anything! Wish I had elves to work for me, lol. I decorate my house, do the baking, ALL the shopping, visiting Santa, etc. and I do it with a husband and 3 kids without breaking a sweat. I would kick Christmas Eve's a**:)
The next kicker: my other SIL took it upon herself to "remind" me to bring a dish. I always do when asked in an appropriate time frame. 3 days before is NOT it. I have ZERO desire to do any kind of shopping right before Christmas so I plan it right. Now I have to stop at the grocery store tomorrow (after my relaxing pre-holiday-gift-to-myself hair appointment).
And this is non family related and kind of non-Christmas related, but it's holiday/season related: We plow snow. Before last year, we plowed with a real jerk of a guy. Then DH and his cousin split off on their own. This jerk guy went and bought a snow melting machine that is a joke. I say that because he boasted (on the local news) how great it is, yet OUR trucks were called in to clear the snow HIS crew left behind and didn't melt with their handy dandy machine. Inaccurate news reporting failed to mention that moving that snow was HIS responsibility and despite that fancy machine (which he charges a LOT for one night), they slacked on the job and we covered his a**. Where's our kudos and news feature? Grrrrr..... I just know that the machine isn't as great as he's saying it is. Word gets around. I feel bad for the businesses wasting their money on it.

AGREE WITH BOTH. A&F is everything wrong with the world. I broke down and bought gifts there and the shirt I got my nephew wreaks of cologne. Who wants a shirt that smells like some other guy wore it first lol. Honestly - I was doing a Mystery Shop there and they ask "was the associate attractive?". No, she looked like she ran into the back of a bus, but she was a size 2. Which is, I guess, what they mean by "attractive".
The fast pass DISGUSTS me. I was there in the am on a weekday when no one was there. But I would NOT buy one and would NOT wait in line while others bought their way to the front.

My purchase reeks! I had to go in there to buy a gift for my niece and found a cute sweater dress. The one in the color I liked that was her size had some weird tag on it that said "Not For Sale". I assumed it had to be a mistake, why would they have something on a rack that wasn't for sale.
All those dopes that worked there wouldn't sell it to me! First they had more in the back, then they didn't. They said they would look it up online for me, then it was "Oh, YOU can go look it up online"
I thought about asking for a manager but realized they just don't care. I ended up getting a different color and a gift receipt so my niece can exchange it if she wants. I will never set foot in that store again
