Transition from one daycare to another - advice or wisdom?

I'm thinking of moving DD to a new daycare. She's 2 1/2. If you have gone through this, let me know how it went.

We did but DS was 10 mos and had been at his old daycare since 10 wks old. The transition was harder on me than him LOL.

I recommend going for a couple hours before he starts and sit there with him and let him be comfy in his new room---then his first day he was just there all day. He actually did way better than I thought he would.

Biggest thing is be excited and let her know she'll be making so many new fun friends.

DS started daycare at 18months old. He goes 2x a week.

When he weas 20months old , we switched him to another one.

To be honest, he really had no problem. i think what also helped was it was still only 2x a week, and their routine at both places were pretty much the same.

We changed centers just a tad younger than your daughter. It was harder for me to leave the women who helped me through that first year than DD. The new center is so many times better than the old (more stimulation and academics, better facility, better teachers), she was so much happier. It was a good decision and we have no regrets. I hope you have the same.
