Losing weight...

Anyone else?

I had a checkup today and have lost 2 pounds in the last month (had only gained 7 total pounds as of last appt.). My OB wasn't too worried but said I could "eat more." I am eating often throughout the day and drinking tons of water and have had no M/S. Where is it all going? Confused

  • Maybe think about adding some high protein/calorie foods?  Or switch from skim to whole milk (if you drink skim)?  Not a ton of calories but it would probably help.

    I need to drink more milk in general, but it's 2% when I do drink it. Thanks for your suggestions!

  • I lost 2 lbs. between 12 and 16 week check-ups- really, over Thanksgiving!?!?  So far I've only gained 2 lbs. total and I'm almost 19 weeks along.  My doc is not worried one bit- I'm kinda fluffy to begin with (size 12/14 pre-pg, overweight/obese, but not morbidly obese) so the baby is getting what he/she needs from my maternal fat stores, and from my prenatals. 
  • Its totally normal to have your weight flex during pregnancy. If your doctor isn't worried don't stress about it! :)

  • I agree with pp.  Add some proteins and good fats (avacados, ect.)  Maybe try that!!  Good luck!
  • agreed- sneak in some more high protein items - great that you are drinking 2%.  Try more beans, cheeses and perhaps some juice along with that water?
  • I lost 6lbs from my November appointment to my December appointment, a total of 10 lost.  My OB wasn't alarmed and didn't even make a reference to it.  I make a point of eating 6 smaller meals a day and at least 5 raw fruits and veggies, so maybe i just kick started my metabolism?
