Finally met my MW

So I finally had my 1st appt with my MW today! It's taken a while to get everything straightened out with insurance and get an appt, etc so I've been getting really anxious about switching my whole plan around. I just felt like I really needed to start moving forward.  I loved the whole appointment!

I can not tell you ladies how happy I am now that I've been there (for more than a tour), met both MWs, and gotten to know the staff a little bit. The whole birth center is perfect for what I have been wanting and I feel so much better now. I think I was beaming the whole time I was there. The MW even noticed and said I just looked super happy  =) She was so sweet and made me feel really comfortable. I feel like I can relax a little now. And everything I've read about MWs taking more time with patients was so true.  I was there for an hour, she answered every single one of my questions I had written down, explained every single thing she doing/asking about, and I never felt rushed or like I was being a pain at all.

 I am just thrilled and I knew you gals would understand where I'm coming from.  Thanks for letting me share my excitement! YAY!

    Cool!  yeah, thats how i felt in our interview with the HB midwife... im really disappointed that we need to go the Hospital BC route, but i know she'll be there to answer questions and for future births!  So happy you are so pleased with your situation!  makes the whole process so much easier!  GL!

    I feel the same way about my birth center MW. I actually haven't bren to an appt yar, but just from the tour I really like her. I am switching from a hospital-based midwife, and it's still such a noticeable difference in their attitudes and thoroughness. DH had said at my last appt with the hospital midwife, "you had your annoyed face on the whole appointment. He could tell I loved the birth center tour.
