Just curious if anyone has experience with their breastmilk supply after a stomach bug. I was sick Sunday through yesterday, BFing DS the entire time even though I was struggling to keep any food down/in, and it was hard to feel hydrated. Today, I'm feeling pretty normal and back at work, and I'm getting about 5oz less for the day than usual. Do you recommend taking measures now to boost supply, or will it probably just take a day or two to recover with eating normally and returning to my work/pump routine? TIA!

Re: Supply drop after illness?
I am actually going through the same thing right now and my daughter is 5 1/2 months old. I am getting over a sinus infection and noticed a tremendous drop in my breast milk when I pump. I did some research and found that this is quite common but that you can increase your supply if you pump more often, stay hydrated and try to keep calm. I have also seen that your milk supply is at it's "best" in the morning so if you are pumping, that is the best time to get a significant amount.
I hope this helps. Breastfeeding is the best thing for your child. As they say, "Breast is BEST".
