What are your favorite lullabies? We sing to Michael all the time. Tim has at least two songs he made up just for Michael. He also likes to sing James Taylor and Grateful Dead songs.
I used to sing it to her all the time. I don't know why. But now when she is fussy in the car, I put that song on and she usually calms down. I think she is just stunned by how much better it sounds when someone who's not me is singing it.

We sing all the time. The goofier the song the better. We make up songs while we are eating. We sing like crazy in the bath. We are dorks. But... we don't sing lullabies. My MIL does though. She sung all the traditional ones to Sydney when she was a baby (sniff).

Tim bought a Best of James Taylor CD so he could get the words right. My husband, the music geek.

I must admit that I forgot most of the lullabies I learned in childhood, so most of what I sing to M is either from my memory being jogged at Gymboree or stuff I've made up
I used to sing "Close to You" (which my mom sang to me) and "You are my Sunshine" to Aaron. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". And lots of made up songs because I don't remember many lullabies.
Now that he is utterly mesmerized by Laurie Berkner, I sing "I'm Gonna Catch You" to him and he just loves it. That and "Moon Moon Moon."
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is my favorite. I don't really know many lullabies. I tend to sing songs from the Sound of Music (My Favorite Things, Edelweiss) or Wizard of Oz (Somewhere Over the Rainbow) instead.
I like to sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Rainbow Connection, You are my Sunshine and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I hear DH sing Itsy Bitsy Spider -too cute!

Michael's pic with santa is so precious! What a happy little boy. I actually sing the alphabet in French..I know it's very strange. I am not even French. I just remember it from 9th grade and it is easy to sing.
I also like Twinkle twinkle and Billy's Joel's "Goodnight my angel".

The only lullabies I sing seem to be from Disney - "Baby Mine", "Someday My Price will Come" and "La La Lu". I'll have to check out some of the other ones you all are mentioning.
However, her favorite songs are "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "The Wheels on the Bus", "The Ants Go Marching" and the newest one is "Old McDonald".
If S gets fussy in the car, I turn it to the local Mexican Spanish station and it seems to soothe her. Go figure!
DD#1 requests Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella (anything from the movie will do) and Shrek songs.
DD#2 doesn't request anything so she gets to hear a lot of Rock-a-bye Baby, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and the Lullabye song I only know the first 3 words of so I hum the rest.

Margaux gets "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and a few made-up ones. We also have a wakeup song based on Jungle Bells (Like MAmy) that goes "Go Margaux, go Margaux, go Margaux Margaux, Go Margaux, Go Margaux, Go Margaux Margaux, Hey!" etc
Re: Lullabies: non-clicky poll.
OMG - Michael and Santa are too cute!
We have a slew of made up songs and I have to admit, they are often my go to favorites. But I also love "You are my sunshine" and "Skinnamarink."

My favorite lullaby is a reworked one sung to the tune of Goodnight Sweetheart:
Goodnight sweet Matthew, it's time to sleep (bum ba da da dum)
Goodnight sweet Matthew, it's time to sleep (bum ba da da dum)
We had a fun day now it's time it ends
Goodnight sweet Matt goodnight
Another is song Jingle bells reworked:
Buzz buzz buzz, buzz buzz buzz, buzz buzz all the way,
Oh what fun it is for a bee to fly in the sky all day
Matt's favorite is "Under My Umbrella" because he will do the arms movements as well.DD#1 requests Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella (anything from the movie will do) and Shrek songs.
