I'm a wreck

To be quite honest, I'm a_fucking wreck.

My kid screams. And screams. Only when it's time for her to eat. Acid Reflux? Probably. But we wont know for sure until her appointment tomorrow.

It's been 10 days since it started.

I don't know what to do anymore. I'm so sad. And for some reason lonely. I feel like a terrible mother, I can't soothe my child's cries. How can I when I'm crying myself?!

I'm so drained emotionally. And my heart is broken.

Re: I'm a wreck

  • that does sound like reflux or something to that extent.

    i'm sorry :(

you're not a bad mother- it's not your fault.

hopefully they can give you a dx tomorrow along with a prescription of meds to help her out. poor baby- it'll get better. i promise :)

  • You are not a bad mother. It isnt your fault. It is so hard to soothe a baby when they cannot tell you what they need. ((hugs)) you are allowed  to cry.

I could have written that bolded part a few weeks ago myself. I was so ready to just give up. I would hand the baby over to my husband the minute he got home from work, get in the shower and just...cry. It was hell, pure and simple.

That being said, now, at almost 10 weeks, my DD is an absolute joy. They say fussiness peaks between 6-8 weeks and that was SO true for us.She's literally like a different baby. Hang in there. Hopefully you'll get a concrete diagnosis tomorrow and you'll be able to put this behind you with the right meds.

In the meantime, know that we've all (or at least definitely ME!) been there...

  • LO started doing this around that time too!! I think it was partially a growth spurt and partially gassiness. I've had to start feeding on one side (BF) because of oversupply issues, causing more gas for DS due to foremilk imbalance. That imbalance was causing him pain when he fed because of the gas bubbles, so our feeding changes and living off of Mylicon for a few days started giving positive results. He still has his times, but it's gotten much better. Sorry, I'm a little sleepy so if this doesn't make sense, I'm not a moron. Best of luck, I hope the ped. can help!

  • Thank you ladies, as bad as it may sound, I'm glad I'm not alone. It's good to have support from moms who have been there as well.

God willing, tomorrow we'll get things straightened out.

Cross your fingers for us! Thanks!!
