Re: lack of bump has me worried...

  • Try not to worry, everyones bodies do different things. It will pop before you know it, sometimes overnight! It will come....

  • If this is your first baby, then you likely have great muscle tone and it is not likely that you would be "showing" that much yet. You should be able to feel where your uterus is though and maybe see a bit of a bump in the mirror but it is not likely that the general public will notice that you are pregnant.

If you are still worried then talk to your Dr.  Remember, your baby is about the size of your fist right now and is still sitting pretty low in your pelvis.

  • Dont worry about it!! I was at my doctors office the other day and she said she didnt start showing until 20 weeks, and that even 14 weeks in considered early to start showing.

Although all the books say that 14 weeks is when some women begin to show, its really dependent on your body, your eating habits (believe me Ive looked like I had a bump for weeks and its mostly weight gain), and how many pregnancies youve had before!

Your lucky, espeically if your clothes still fit you!

  • I wouldn't worry about it...your stomach will grow and like pp said if your stomach was really toned and in good shape it can take longer to show. I was barely showing at 16wks in my last pregnancy b/c I was really fit (not so much the case this time around since my stomach NEVER went back to what it was) Don't worry your baby is growing fine I'm sure.

  • Try not to worry, even though I am too. I also am almost 16w and have no bump yet nor have I gained any weight.

Everyone grows differently, so I am trying not to worry. I have a docs appt on wed, so hopefully everything will turn out okay and I can try to worry less.

  • My best friend is due in 3 weeks and she did not start showing until she was 26. Everyone pops at different times and I am sure everything is fine. If you are really concerned you can ask your doctor.

  • What I thought was a bump was bloat, and I now look thinner than I was BEFORE I got BFP.  This is my second too, so the whole "you'll pop earlier" theory doesn't apply to me.

  • Lots of people don't show until 20 weeks or so...try not to worry!

  • I'm not showing either.  My tummy is a bit flabbier but's not baby--it's my lack of exercise!

  • i have something going on, but it sure cannot be called a bump yet - my doctors are far from concerned

  • I didn't really start getting any sort of bump until right around 16 weeks last time. This time I think it's a combo of bloat and lack of muscle tone. Try not to worry, everyone's body is different and I'm sure you'll have a cute baby bump soon!

  • Just agreeing with pp about trying not to worry because everyone is different. I'm petite but my best friend who is also very petite clearly had a bump at 3 months whereas I'm 1 day shy of 16wks and nothing to show for. I was bigger at around 8 weeks when I was bloated than I am now. lol

I have my next appt on Monday. I'm also just praying everything is continuing to go well.

  • Just another person chiming in about nothing to show yet! I'm not worried, everything I've read really confirms that it's totally normal to not show until 20 weeks or so. And judging by where our baby's HB is on the doppler (low!) it's not surprising. Don't worry, I'm sure baby is fine :)

  • I was just telling my husband this the other day!!  I, too, have no bump.  I have gained 5 pounds, but it feels like too much food, not baby!!!  Hang in there, we will get ours soon!

  • As others have said, don't worry!!  I'm 16 weeks and while I have a little pooch, its definitely not anywhere close to a baby bump yet!  I'm still wearing my regular jeans and I've gained 2 pounds.  The bump will come!
  • I'm still not showing yet at all. I asked my doc at my 15 week appointment and she said plenty on women don't even start to show until 20 weeks and that even then it can be barely visible. She laughed and said I'd be wishing the bump away by the end and not to worry at all now.
