A bird in a gilded nest mounted on a clothespin to use as a hanger. It came from my late aunt and is good luck in Sweden or somewhere (I think it still has the description on an attached tag, and my aunt never went to Sweden). It's held up really well.
A painted wooden Santa my parents gave us two years ago.

it's still on my mom's tree, but it's one I made in Brownie's in 1st grade.
it's an egg compartment of an old egg carton, covered in foil, with a cotton ball glued in as "snow" and a small plastic deer glued and standing in the cotton snow. For some reason it was alway my favorite as a kid (Only I could hang it)... and it has survived 33-ish years and is still my favorite.
close 2nd is the green condom I brought home from college and my mom still hangs on the tree (in the back, plus green helps it blend in and not be so obvious)
I love all my ornaments. A few my mom made 30+ years ago, but the others I bought at anthropologie a few years in a row....at like 75% off after Christmas. They are pretty.
I have a couple ornaments (a stocking and a star) my grandmother made out of pretty pictures from magazine ads during the Depression. I hang those on my tree every year, and they remind me of her.
