Re: ~* January GD Check-In *~

  • Question1: What meter do you use? Ultra one touch mini, I didn't get to pick it out, it's what they gave me when I had GD with #1

Question 2: What do you normally eat for you night time snack? Usually 1/2 a sandwich or 1/2 cup of ice cream

As always feel free to include any updates! If you have an induction date or c/s scheduled I can add it to the list My BP was high yesterday, so after being monitored for 3 hrs, my BP came down and I was sent home on rest. I go back Monday to have my BP checked again. Baby was head down at my appt on Thursday so we may be canceling the c-section and doing an induction instead. I should know what's going to happen either Monday or Thursday next week.

  • Question1: What meter do you use? I use the TRUEtrack meter. It is a meter from Publix that was free.

Question 2: What do you normally eat for you night time snack? It depends. If I eat dinner a little later than usual, I don't always eat a nighttime snack. But, sometimes I eat a Jello Mousse cup or crackers with peanut butter.

I met with the high risk OB for the first time today. They did my first NST and another growth ultrasound. I am 34 weeks and baby is measuring 6 lbs. 7 oz. They are going to start monitoring me twice a week now on top of my regular OB appointments. They upped my insulin to 6 units at bedtime. It's about time! I was on only 2 units and it wasn't doing anything. I was getting frustrated because I felt like I was taking insulin for no reason since it wasn't helping. The high risk OB kind of made me feel like I wasn't doing a good job on my diet because I had a bunch of high numbers, according to him. I truly don't and I have been good on my diet except for a few slip ups. Oh well.

  • Question1: What meter do you use? Bayer Breeze 2.  It's what my dr prescribed for me.  Actually the meter has special discs for testing instead of individual test strips.  From what my dietician told me they usually prescribe my meter for older people with arthritis so they don't have to deal with pulling out the little test strips.  I wish it was smaller, it a little bulky but oh well.  Good thing I have a big purse.  Smile

Question 2: What do you normally eat for you night time snack? Depending on my mood and how much time I have before bed, my snack is anything from some trail mix, 1/2 c of ice cream, peanut butter and toast, or applesause.

I am hoping LO comes early naturally, but if not I am being induced on 1/10/11.  At my appt today, dr said LO is measuring 2cm bigger than average.  I am hoping I don't have to have a c/s, but am okay if I NEED to.

  • #1 My doctor gave me the Ultra One Touch Mini.

#2 We usually eat dinner later, 6:30-7:30, so my snack is usually really light and at about 8:30 or 9:00 if I have one at all.  Normally it's popcorn or crackers and cheese.

I did find some sugar free chocolate chips the other night and made some haystacks.  Chow Mien Noodles and Peanuts covered with the melted chocolate and melted Peanut butter.  I figured I could have two and stay under my snack carb choices.  YEAH for chocolate!

  • Question1: What meter do you use? Accu Check Aviva
Question 2: What do you normally eat for you night time snack? It depends but any combo of the following (cheese/crackers, banana w/ PB, nuts/string cheese, milk and cookies tonight!) My doctor let me get off of the Met due to stomach upset and I'm maintaining my sugars without it (so far so good). My induction date is scheduled for 12/30 I'll be one day shy of 39 weeks. Baby is measuring one week ahead (7lbs 5oz) as of today.
  • 1) I use the Freestyle lite.  I really like it.  It uses so little blood, it's awesome.

    2) Lately it's been pomegranate.  Yum!  I've kind of been on a fruit kick.  I can't get enough. >.<
