Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't updated about Kate in a while - we are currently on vacation and were waiting on a team of doctors to round table about her case.
We got news today that Kate does in fact need to have a bone marrow biopsy. Our hematologist, 2 other hematologists, the head of bone marrow failure at Texas Children's, and an immunologist all agree that this is what our next step needs to be.
Her biopsy is set for early AM on January 4. She will be put under general and have the procedure done in the OR. If all goes well, she should be home that evening.
My husband and I are obviously worried and scared that we are to this point and that our sweet baby girl will undergo something like this. However, we are trying to remain strong in our faith. We know Kate is a fighter - she proved that back in first tri when she held onl after her twin siblings couldn't. As always, we appreciate any and all positive thoughts and prayers.

Re: Bone Marrow Biopsy scheduled
So sorry to hear!
You, Alex and Kate are in our thoughts and prayers every day. She's a fighter just like her mama and she will be JUST FINE. Harrison and Alexander are pulling for their little buddy too!

It sounds like you have an amazing team of doctors behind you. I'm sure this is scary but hopefully it will get you the answers you need to treat this issue. You amaze me everytime with your faith and strength!!! Your family will continue to be in my prayers for the most positive outcome!!!
We will continue to be here for you!!! Hugs!!!
Oh gosh...I can't believe it has come to this after 1 random fever and a few small petechiae. She still seems perfectly healthy, right? So strange that her b/w would come back abnormal with no answers after all this add'l testing. Is the biopsy specifically performed to rule out leukemia or might it give you other answers as well?
I'm so sorry you all are going through this!!

I've been thinking about you guys. I'm so sorry you're at this point but I hope the biopsy enables them to determine what the problem is so they can fix it.
((HUGS))
I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Sending prayers that everything goes well!!
BFP with no treatment!
Hm...I have no idea where that falls in the "seriousness" category - is it manageable?

Oh my. I'm sure you will be relieved to have a diagnosis and move forward with treatment - and hopfully it will not warrant any kind of invasive treatment!

I have been thinking of you both. I am so sorry you are going through all this. But it seems like the doctors you have in place are excellent and are doing everything to make sure that Kate is getting the best care.
