Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Re: OMG! Sophie choking hazard

  • Riiight. And notice that they heard the baby gagging and stories of the like. Every toy is a hazard I am sure. Toys do not equal babysitters. Babies that young should be supervised with toys. Especially teethers. Duh.

  • we have one under the Christmas tree for C and will still give it to her. Like OBH said, toys are not babysitters and babies should be supervised when playing with ANYTHING.
  • Eh.. I won't be taking my chances.
Sometimes it's okay to follow. (Picture is a clicky)

  • My kid chokes on his own hands. While I'm watching closely. Things happen. Toys aren't babysitters, just like pp said.

  • Personally, I hate the stupid giraffe.  It makes the most annoying squeaking sound and I hate that it's painted.  But I defintely agree with OBH on this one.  It's a teether-you should be watching your kid with anything they are supposed to be putting in their mouths.  I am not sure I would call using this "taking a chance".  It's called paying attention.
  • COMMON SENSE !! i mean .. why would you let your young child play with a giraffe while sitting rear facing in a car seat ??! I have no information on this toy, but when i saw what it was i literally said "duh, look at the legs." Common sense would be perfect in this situation, dont give your baby a toy giraffe and drive!

Its painted with a food based paint. Plus I have 2 labs that are obsessed with squeaky tennis balls so I'm used to the noise.

But yeah I agree. ANY thing that a baby can stick into their mouth should not be given to them unless they are supervised. The people that right those reviews are lazy dumbasses. Same thing goes for the people that say bumbo's are baby killers, yeah, because you stuck your baby in one on the kitchen table than walked away...Confused

Yea, I have a dog...I stilll hate the squeaky toys.  I also still hate that the paint comes off-food based or not.  It weirds me out!

I love my bumbo.  Hmm that reminds me, I may check to see how she does in it tomorow.

  • It's an overpriced teether.  I agree with pp's though.  Use some common sense.

  • By the time my DS1 was old enough to use it as a teether, he was old enough to yank it out of his mouth when he stuck her leg in too far. He loved Sophie and, of course, we never left him alone with her.

I'll gladly, and without reservation, let Eddie play with Sophie too.
