My son's name is Tyler Khol!! I didn't like the Cole Spelling but I also didn't want it spelt like the department store Kohl's either. So, back to your question lol I like Khol or Kohl as you spelt
lol This is why the name bored drives me INSANE lol Ppl get annoyed bc it's not spelt like text book. Well really? who cares! If that is how she wants to spell it then that is how she shall spell it !
One reason most people don't like made up spellings is because it makes you (and your off-spring) look uneducated. I'm not saying that you are, just that it looks like you are. And it is "spelled" not "spelt."
Neither are exactly my style, but I like them well enough. I know someone with the last name Kohls so to me Kohl is not a first name (spelled like this), but that is just me. Also Keiren reminds me of Kiersten so it doesn't shout "boy" to me.

Oh thanks EVER SO MUCH for "spelled" not "spelt" quotation. haha!

Trust me, you'd care if you'd grown up spelling your name for people. It's a total pain in the A$$. It is something entirely preventable, and should be taken into consideration by parents.
Also, it's BOARD.
Baby Boy Born 3.15.11. 8lb 9oz, 21.75in.
6 month stats: 20lb 11oz (92%tile), 30.12in.(100%tile - who knew it went over 99th? Which means 100% of other 6 month olds are shorter than mine!)

Sorry for my "misspelling" but I wouldn't call them incorrect... I was more or less going for the names themselves, not the spelling, since I would pick a name for the name, not solely on how it's spelled.
I do agree with the others, I would rather spell my prior choice "Kohl" differently because I do think of the department store... I wouldn't mind Khol though. I did mean to spell Keiren with an "a." I was leaving work and rushed through the post
Keiran is the Irish spelling which is why I had the "e" before the "i."
I also don't think the names Keiran or Khol would make a person seem uneducated. That's a huge assumption to make based on a name!
Thanks for all the input

So you don't think George is too bad? I like the name itself, but I'm stupidly self conscious about people's reaction to it... I know that is a ridiculous excuse.

I agree 100%
Kohl reminds me of the department store. Khol looks like a Kardashian got loose!

I LOVE George! I think it is a strong, classic name. One that will grow well with a child.
Also really like George. I don't think you can go wrong with that.

Are you kidding? George is a great name. I'd be WAY more self conscious about reactions to something made-up looking like Keiren or Kohl (Kohl is bad .... very bad).
George.

Exactly, I have an unique spelling for a common name and I have to constantly, I mean constantly have to correct people on the spelling and the pronunciation of my name. I have also had important documents and announcements be messed up because of the spelling of my name. Plus, as a kid I could never have and cool personalized gifts because of my name. I swore that my kids would have the common spelling for their names.
I was talking to my mom about it a few years ago and she said if she could go back in time she would have given me the most common spelling.
Although some people don't care about spelling most of us do. They can try and fool themselves and think it is cool and uneek, but it really does make the parents look illiterate no matter how much they try and fight it. Obviously from the amount of similar responses on the subject it should prove the point.
Kohl and Khol (whaaaat??-I want to pronounce this like call) are NMS at all. I like Cole though.
I LOVE the name George. It's strong, masculine and reminds me of George Clooney a little bit (not tough to look at, imo).
What about George Kieran? Or George Colton? I also think the nn Georgie is so cute for a little boy.
And yes, people will judge you and your children based on their names. It may not be nice, but it's the way things work. Certain names can be unique, spunky, fun, cool but still be "spellt" correctly and be legitimate names.

Re: Boy: Keiren or Kohl?
Since they are both spelled incorrectly, neither.
Cole or Keiran would be better.

This. George is an awesome name.
I love Kieran (spelled correctly).

Agreed. Kohl is horrible! Cole is way better. Keiren reads more like Karen to me. Keiran is way better as well.

same for me
Kohl? Really?

Check it out:
This. And my vote is Kieran.
Kohl is also a kind of eyeliner, the dark smoky stuff.
And haven't we had the "spelt" discussion before? It is legit.
Also the classic spelling of Kieran isn't bad at all.
