Sweet Home Alabama

DH and I are going down to his family's in Alabama for Christmas this year.  On the way we're stopping by my grandma's to give her the gift we've all gone in on for her Christmas--a new TV (can't WAIT to show her HD).  And then Christmas morning we'll be at his grandma's for Christmas breakfast and to watch our many nephews open their Christmas gifts :) 

DH and I always hear "Sweet Home Alabama" at least six or seven times on our drive down and it pumps us up the entire trip...16 hrs to his grandma's!!  I can't wait until we hear it for the first time while randomly flipping radio stations!

    My mom usually keeps our beagle and our lab, and this year we added a new furbaby, the mix in my siggy.  So we're taking Sadie, our lab, and my mom's keeping the puppy Beaker and Belle.  Beaker is a shelter pup and is still leash-shy (which would be really bad for her having to be on a leash at rest stops, etc.--she is deathly afraid of them) and Belle would run to Florida if she got away somehow.  :)  The one we're taking, Sadie, is the most stay-with-you dog ever.  So we're taking her down with us.

    My husband and I live in AL and the rest of our families live up north.  We are usually going up to see them every Christmas break.  This year, we decided to spend the holidays here just the two of us, very quiet.  (I don't think I will get changed out of my pajamas Christmas Day!!

    Good luck on your drive.  As many times as we travel back and forth, I can't get used to the 18 hour drive that we have.

    P.S. Your dogs are beautiful!
