Diaper Genie - helps with odor?

I have 8 week old twins, and up until the past 2 weeks, we have been using a regular trashcan for their diapers with no problem.  2 weeks ago, I started adding rice cereal to their feeds to help with their reflux (per ped's instructions) and their BMs have gotten very smelly.  So much so that the regular trashcan with a lid isn't cutting odor control anymore. 

I don't want to buy a diaper genie if it's not going to help, so I'm asking you guys first.  Does it help?  If not, what do you use?

    We have a diaper genie and we LOVE it. I'm not sure if it helps with the smell much because so far LO's poops don't have much of a smell, but we like that it is just for diapers and we aren't filling our regular garbage can full of diapers. We are pretty surprised on how long a refill last too, we are still on the first refill.

    We have a diaper genie and I think it helps. I had one with DS#1 and it worked great then too!

    It works! Ours only smells when you open it to empty the liner. I also put Arm&Hammer nursery freshners on the bottom. HTH!

    We don't have a diaper genie, we use a regular trash can that has a lid and I buy small sacks that are strongly scented (they smell like baby powder) and we put the soiled diapers into the little bags and then we just tie them up (they have handles) and toss them. We haven't had any odor problems.

    I have a diaper genie and I do like it, and it does keep out the smell. :)

    We also love our diaper genie, but not thrilled with the generic refills. Once we use them up we will spend the little bit extra on the refills that are made for it.

    Diaper Genie Elite II is what we use.  Love it!!  Such a lifesaver and, as pp mentioned, we were surprised how long we are able to go between emptying it out.  Cost is not too bad, about $30, and Babies R Us had coupons for $5 off on it quite often, they also have those 20% off coupons quite often...
