Stupid hiccups

LO finally passed out in my arms close to an hour ago and I put her down about 30 minutes ago and NOW the hiccups start!? Seriously!? She was awake and fussing off and on for 2 hours after she ate- couldnt she have had them then?! Ugh- hopefully she falls back to sleep on her own but im not counting on it.

    Gripe water gets rid of my LO's hiccups about 90% or the time and I only use half the dose.  It is simply a little baking soda with some ginger and fennel, no real drugs.  My doc recommended it.

    We tried that for gas but it didn't really help. Do you give it when the hiccups start? I'll have to try that next time! They went away. She is up and eating again now lol

    It doesn't really help with gas.  Use dimethicone for that (Little Tummies or Mylecon

    I should add that I use the syringe to measure then I put a bottle nipple with the ring on it, in her mouth and when she starts sucking, I start filling the nipple.  I stop when her hiccups go away.  I have never had to use more than half the dose.  This is the best delivery system for meds I have found.  The flow is controlled so she doesn't choke and she never spits any meds out.  It also keeps the droppers clean which is important if they are stored in the medicine lid.

    Yeah those didn't work either. I think she is destined to be gassy like her father!! Lol

    Breastfeeding gets rid of LO's hiccups like a charm if I can get him to latch. If I wait too long he gets upset about the hiccups and then it's a chore to get him on the boob.
