Did your 15 month old talk, what kinds of words, how many.
My daughter does not talk at all, does say sounds like mama baba, etc - but not as words, just as sounds.
Today, at her 15 month appointment - the dr was concerned.
Just curious about everyone here. If you or your doc were concerned, did you call EI, did you have any services?
Re: How much does/did your 15 month old "talk"
DD is just over 15 months. She has 15-20 words that she uses daily.
Words like:
More
Kitty
Car
Water "wa wa"
Momma
Dada
Ball
Teddy (her bear) etc ....
If my doctor had a concern I would not hesitate for a moment to get her set up with EI or any services that the Dr. might suggest.

Hi Amy!
How are you? haven't seen you in a long time.
Does your DD understand you? if you ask her questions? where things are?
DD had 3 words at 15mths - Mama, Dada and Moo and she doesn't have many more now. She will occassionally come out with something then we don't hear it again. She babbles non stop and in her own little language is running sentences together but not many actual words.
DH is worried but honestly I'm not. She udnerstands everything I ask and say to her, if she didn't then I'd be concerned, I think part of it is that I read her mine a lot of the time and so she doens't have to talk!

Day Three
At Luke's 15 month appointment he only said mama and dada. Our doctor was also a bit concerned. She wants to wait until 18 months though until any intervention. Since his appointment, he's starting saying cat and dog. So hopefully he'll start saying even more. But we will just have to wait and see.
DS has 8 words.
DD is 15 months next week and has 7 words.
Neither one of my boys had any appreciable words at the 15 month appointment. My older son started to talk around 20 months and now at 3.5 has typical speech and language skills.
My younger son still has only a few words (at 22 months) and we have engaged a speech therapist and some others to help his communication skills along.
At 15 months, my doctor was not concerned about either boy. They were hitting all other milestones on time and behavoirally were on track as well.
At 15 months, DS said mama and dada, but little else. However, he understood everything we said, followed many different commands, knew all his body parts, etc. Also, his babbling was getting more complex, with new consonants and vowels.
He's 16 months, and he now says daddy, mommy, teeth, hat, and hi.
