I think we have narrowed it down to 2 names and would like to hear others' opinions.
Savannah Elizabeth ~ name we chose years ago, however, now I am wondering how well Savannah would fit an older woman in a professional sense; love it for a little girl and younger girl, but idk....)
Kora Elizabeth ~ yes, I know most people prefer Cora, but, we both like the K and one of the meanings associated with the word "kora" (Buddhist pilgrimage). I'm OK with telling people how to spell it...
I guess what I'm wondering is.....do you think Kora is a better name that will grow with a girl? Because that is what I am thinking, and leaning towards it over Savannah for that reason.
TIA!
Re: Deciding between 2 girl names
I might go a step further and tell you to keep looking. I agree that I'm not sure how well Savannah would grow with your daughter. And I definitely agree w/ PP re: Kora.
neither has any chance of sounding appropriately porofessional

I agree with this. Cora is a lovely name but I hate K's switched out for C's so much. Savannah's ok, but I would LOVE Cora Elizabeth. Elizabeth Kora would also get my vote.
I think either would sound good on an adult, but I'm from the south, so I know quite a few grown up Savannahs.
Kora with a K also doesn't bother me -- it looks Greek.

I love Savannah, so that gets my vote!
I don't really like Cora, so Kora definitely gets a no from me.

I like them both, Savannah is my favorite though.
My daughter has the C/K problem. It isn't too hard to tell people it is with a K so if you like it that way, go for it!
I love Cora, and I wouldn't usually vote against a name based on spelling alone, but I dislike the "K" spelling enough to give my vote to Savannah by default.

I like Kora Elizabeth. The K doesn't bother me.
Savannah makes me think of the city in Georgia.

IMO, I think this may be a bit of an exaggeration for most fields. I would have no problem interviewing a Kora or Savannah.
this
Savannah.
I like Savannah better than Cora. I don't care for Kora at all.

I'm also from the South, so like the PP said I've met quite a few grown Savannah's. I also totally love the PP's idea about how she could use Anna as a NN if she chose to do so. Kora is awful.
They both are incredibly cutesy and won't age well.
Spell it Cora, or keep looking.
But will she be? It might get very annoying after awhile ALWAYS having to correct everyone.
I actually really like Savannah, it's on our list.
Kora with a K is absolutely terrible though. Spell it with a C, or nix it. Seriously, it's hideous with a K.
Savannah most definitely.
