Baby shower gift

My very good friends shower is coming up. This is her first baby. Two of us want to go together on a gift and get her something amazing that she will use for a long time. We are prepared to spend any where between $150-200. I am also pregnant with my first so I can't put my finger on the perfect gift. A car seat/stroller combo? A high chair? Any ideas?

    Does she have a registry? If so, I'd check that first and see what she needs. That would make it alot easier. You can also add a couple smaller items to personalize it (clothes, toys, whatever).

    She has a registry but she was very modest with it, only registered for little stuff. I think I will get a hold of her mom and see what she has been thinking about as far as furniture..

    Is she registered for a pack-n-play? If you use a coupon, you can probably get that and the sheets for her.  A friend and I did that for our friend's shower since we knew she'd want it right away.

    I just looked up the pack and play! That is amazing!! I was kind of thinking about a bassinet, but it seems sort of silly if they don't use it that long, and the pack and play has one...is that a good substitute?

    A Pack N Play w/bassinet is great idea. I'd check with her mom to see if she is going wit a theme or not so it might make choosing one easier if she is.

    Ditto on the pack-n-play, we love ours.  You could go with a swing.  That was something I didn't register for but am very glad someone gave me one- DD is swinging in it right now!
