Newbie wearing flame-retardent suit here. If you're into Sophia and Aiden, you're not gonna like me.

Figures, we had a girl's name figured out minutes after my BFP... The boy name is a different story.
We both have "top 10" names, and can't stand it. So we want something a little off the beaten path for our children. [Poll]
Re: Neo for a boy - Vomit or Clever?
While I love Theo and Leo, I can't get behind Neo.
I really hope this doesn't become a new name trend in the fashion of '-aiden' names.
Holy crap you ladies work fast.
Feffy - I am trying way too hard. All the names I really, truly LOVED for a boy, DH shot down. He keeps coming up with names he likes, then retracting the suggestion a few minutes later.
So trying to find a second best and talk myself into liking it, isn't really the easiest task...

Maybe it's because my son's name is Leo, but I could *maybe* stand this name if I heard it.
I would never have it as a full first name though.
LOL
Finding Nemo
Maybe you need to find something for it to be a NN for. Like. . . Neomiah, or something. Do you like Leo?
I am dying to know what your girls name was though. Share, please?
this. It's awful, IMO.
What the PP said about nicknames. I think it could be a totally cool nickname. (Then again, we named our daughter the most traditional name on the planet and managed on accident to come up with the most bizarre nickname in the world for it, even though it has about a kajillion "common" nicknames.)
Obvi, your girl's name is Trinity, right? (Don't laugh, I have a friend who's pregnant now and if it's a girl, she's going with Trinity nn Trin -- and I like it. I'm getting soft in my old age. First Winter, now Trin.)
I think Neo could be a cool NN for Nicholas, Nathan, Nero, Newton, Neil...
The nice thing -- and I find myself saying this a lot on these boards, is that you can exercise your bizarre naming desires in nicknames or middle names if you give your kid a "normal" first name -- that way, if they WANT to be a tattoo artist, they can be Neo, and if they want to be a supreme court justice, they can be Nathaniel or whatever, and just go by Neo to their buddies and/or family.
Whoa!
Although I like the name, I think of The Matrix as well. I think he get tired of the jokes real fast.
