Cloth Diapering

"diaper pail" vs hanging wet bag

I'm trying to decide which we should use. What do you guys prefer and why?

Re: "diaper pail" vs hanging wet bag

  • I prefer the pail (kitchen trashcan with a lid I can keep open) because it is just easier and it holds more.  It takes two hands to open and throw in a diaper for the hanging bag and with the pail it is always open and I can just toss it in.

  • I like a hanging wetbag.  I just take it all down to the washer, dump it in with the dipes, and it always smells fresh.

  • I have both.  The hanging wet bag is for MIL and I just take it home every other day and toss it in the wash.  I also take it on trips.  I like the pail for our house, though.

  • We started with a Planetwise hanging wet bag and ended up switching to a pail with liner.  The wet bag didn't hold as much and didn't wash up that well.  Plus, I needed a back up wet bag while the first was in the wash, and then drying, and I didn't want to spend so much money on a second hanging bag.  So, went to target, bought a cheap trash can and 2 laundry bags ($3.99 each) and that's what we use now.
