Babies: 0 - 3 Months

If you have an active baby, come in.

Isabelle can stay up for an hour and a half to 2 hours. I was reading and seems like every where I read, they say that babies don't normally stay up this long till they are 6 months old. These articles say a 3 month old should be able to stay up 45 minutes. Does anyone else's LO stay up for long periods in between naps? Izz is STTN...maybe that's a factor.

  • Oh yeah Lizzie stays up for like 1.5-2 hrs at a pop. If there's interesting things going on around her there's no telling how long she'll be up.

  • Really? Jack stays up forever during the day. At least 2 hrs, then he'll cat nap for 20-30 mins and back up again. I'm convinced this adds to his misery/fussiness since he has to be exhausted all the time. But he refuses to sleep.
  • C can stay up for a couple hours.

  • Mine stays up about an hour/hour and a half usually as well but only recently. Up until about a week or two ago she was only up 30-45 mins at a time. She also has gone from sleeping 6-7 hrs at night to 9-10 hrs.

  • He's usually up for at least an hour between naps, but he's gone 2-3 hours between without fussing- he usually does that once a day.  No STTN though.

  • uhm, I guess my kid didn't read those articles, because she has been known to stay awake for up to four hours. So, yeah...definitely up for long periods between naps. She doesn't STTN yet, but will usually do a four hour sleep followed by three two hours....I think we've got a little sleep-fighter here!

  • Elliot stays awake, at home, several hours in the day.  On lazy days off, we hang out around the house and she likes to play pee-a-boo with her older sis.  At daycare, however, she has smaller spans of wake-time; they are less interesting :-P She does STTN most nights, too.
  • B sleeps most of the night. She's up for good by 8 am, takes a nap from 11-4 on a good day (11-11:30 on a bad day), and falls asleep again at 8 pm.  I don't know who's having these babies that sleep 16-18 hours a day but it's certainly not me.

  • Lainey is usually up for an hour to hour and a half between naps, this includes feeding time.  If she gets to 2 hours she gets SUPER cranky.  She doesn't STTN though.
