Does anyone have a Paragard IUD?

 I'm pretty sure I'm going to get an IUD when I go in for my pp appointment, and I was thinking the Paragard since it doesn't have hormones (my body does not do well with excess hormones. Just wondering if you like it, and what the pros/cons are for you. TIA!

    I have paraguard, got it when DD2 was 9 weeks old, and I'm very happy with it.  I also don't handle hormonal bc well and just didn't want to take the risk and I love that I don't have to think about bc at all ever.  I also like that it has little affect on my natural body rhythms.  My period lasts a day longer on average and that's the only side effect I've had.

    I've had it for a year, I have no complaints.  It's like I'm not on birth control, no daily pills, I don't even have to think about it.

    I cramp a lot worse and for about 3 days prior to starting. I spot those few days as well. My periods have been lasting about a week and a half with it and my flow is a lot heavier.. I went in for a checkup and my doctor named off all my side effects without me telling him. Apparently they're common. I like not having to worry about anything and no hormones so I deal with those effects.

    So far it's the best BC I've used, no side effects except some occassional cramping and heavier periods, which I can live with rather than the effects of BCP.

    Yeah, this, pretty much.  My periods are ridiculously long and heavy, but hormones make me crazy, so it's a wash.
