We are about to have our son and still trying to decide on a name. What do you think of the name Kenzo? It is Japanese. When we've shared it with our friends and family people either love it or hate it. What do you think? TIA.

"For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me the petition which I asked of him." 1 Samuel 1:27
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5
I love Japanese names - if you're Japanese. My ex-SIL was Aisha and her sister was Toshi. They were as white as can be, so I always thought it was very strange for their family to randomly pick ethnic names

I haven't heard of it, but just like in America, the new trend in Japan are unique names - and just like in America, many people cannot pronounce them, or don't know how to read the name (due to the uncommon kanji). There are some Japanese names that work well between the cultures... but in my opinion, that isn't one of them. What about just Ken, Kanta or Kota (running with the K theme)?

THIS.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but both my husband and I are Japanese.
Since both you and H are Japanese, I think Kenzo works. It sounds like a strong name IMHO.
