Slippers or socks with tread?

It's cold now and we have hard wood floors with rugs...so my little one really can't wear socks alone without slipping a bit on the wood floors...and I don't want her to wear shoes all the time....I am having trouble finding socks with the rubbery stuff on them (they were so easy when they were infants!)....she wears size 4 1/2 in striderite shoes if that helps narrow it down but it is impossible to find slippers for her at that size...any ideas?  I know I am missing the obvious here for socks or slippers....

Thanks!

Re: Slippers or socks with tread?

  • Yesterday's post.  Walmart slipper with velcro.  They work wonders The same ones I got in the store are not online- the in store ones were $6.50 online they cost $25!

  • The Children's Place.  I get them for DD when they run them 10 for $10.  They colors don't fade and they wear well (don't bunch or slouch down with shoes on.)

these are the cutest!! They are hard soled on the bottom, no slipping at all!

  • Most of the socks at Carters have the grippy things on the bottom. Also, Hanes toddler socks do (got them at Target, in the baby sock section).

We got her these slippers from Target. She thinks she's hot stuff when she wears them, and calls them her "boots." hehe.

  • I've also been thinking about getting some of these for DD to keep at my mom's house.  She has hardwood floors too and they seem to be a little more slippery than ours at home.  Target.com carries them too.

Agree!  DS has Skidders and they work really well on hardwood floors.

  • Old Navy.  Also children's place socks have the writing on the bottoms with the rubber material.  We have hardwood floors and my daugther walks around fine with them.

  • DD won't keep just socks on so we do socks with the Target brand Robeez for inside the house.
  • Kohls Jumping Beans brand are great.
