Babies: 9 - 12 Months

who are/did you invite to LO b-day party

I'm stuck.  It's either have a small GTG at our house with just our parents and brothers and sisters or go all out and invite both side with aunts, uncles and cousin included.  If I invite everyone that's around 90 people counting everyones kids.

Re: who are/did you invite to LO b-day party

  • We went the small route, mainly because Christmas is a week after her bday & we'll see most of our families then.

  • We invited close friends and immediate family- we did not get into all the cousins and extended family. Other then my parents- DH and didnt even want to invite anyone on his side, but we kinda had to. We are closer to our friends then to DH's family, so there was no way that we were not inviting the friends.  We are having about 40 people.

  • I am pretty sure that we are doing both sides, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a few close friends. We both have large families and we are both very close with our families.

  • We only invited grandparents and godparents - 6 people.
  • Our family and circle of friends is small so we are inviting all. Probably around 30 when all is said and done if everyone attends.
  • We went the small route too.. grandparents, aunts/uncle, godparents, and a few close friends.

  • We're having it at Gymboree, so we are only inviting family and friends with small kids.  My mom and sister are coming as well, but that's it.

  • I have a small family and SO doesn't really get along well with hers, so we are only have about 5 family members. The rest are close friends (that we consider extended family), or friends with LOs (about 35 total). We are having it at our house, which is not large at all, but hopefully with people spread throughout the kitchen. living and dining rooms and playroom it should be fine.

  • Our families (Including uncles, aunts, cousins, grand uncles and aunts) and our close group of friends. Our only saving grace that the party isnt going to be HUGE is DH's family is in Hawaii and they most likely will not be flying down here for his party. Our guestlist is probably 30/35 not including about 10 kids

  • My side overall is much bigger than DH's.  So it's a little different on both sides.

My side: My mom, grandmother, bro/sisters, their spouses and kids, plus 1 aunt/uncle/cousin that I'm very close to = 13 adults, 7 kids.

DH's side: ILs, SIL, grandparents, and ALL aunts, uncles, cousins = 17 adults, 1 kid.

That is the absolute smallest we could go. Comes to 30 adults and 8 kids.

  • We did a huge get together with uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, etc. However, even with everyone it's only 50 people since most of DH's family lives far away and cannot make it. It's this weekend and I'm definitely nervous about everything! I kind of wish we did a small get together with just immediate family instead.

  • We will have around 50-60 guests. My family is really close and not inviting some of my cousins is just wrong. DH's family is smaller then mine and less reliable, but we will still invite them. We will also invite friends that we are close to.

  • there's still some family who have yet to meet sabrina so we opted to go the bigger route this time only- and it's family only (and not even *all* family): 60 total including kids invited. we're doing it at a pizza joint cuz we don't have a big house like that. honestly, i'd much rather go the smaller route but bc some haven't met her, we sort of felt obligated.

  • Our party is on Saturday; we are only having 18 people - immediate family and very close friends.
  • We invited our parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and cousin's children. In our family it's typical to spend holidays and birthdays this large group.

We also invited two very close friends who have children (older than DS) and any friends who have a toddler.

We invited 60-70 people plus 14 toddlers.

I'm praying that it's fun and not just way too much work. Our home is way too small for a family-only party in the winter. We figured if we have to rent a hall anyway, we should just go for it and include lots of friends.

  • We are both very close to our families and both sides are close. With immediate family, aunts, uncles, cousins, Grandparents, and Godparents, and children we are at 90. We will see who shows.
