Poll: Most Annoying Baby Nickname?

What's the most annoying nickname someone has chosen for your child?

I've got a cousin who is a Bengals fan that calls her Carson(as in QB Carson Palmer) and that makes me want to punch him since I'm a Steelers fan.

Also, one of my husband's employees refers to her as "Baby Goo" like Farrah's mom on 16 & Pregnant. I don't like that much either.

This is my siggy. Love it.

  • My SIL keeps referring to my baby as Lil Man.  It annoys the crap out of me.  Maybe its just because she annoys the crap out of me.

  • Andy.

I know its not terrible, but we call him Drew and some people insist on calling him Andy because they don't like the NN we've chosen.

Everytime I hear it I get so irritated.

  • I know I signed up for this nickname when I named her this, but Gracie.  I hate it for some reason.  Please call her Gracyn, Grace, Grey, anything but Gracie.

MIL calls her "Hillbilly." I fvcking hate it and bite DH's head off when he uses it. It is fvcking stupid and doesn't make sense. Of all the cute nicknames, she comes up with HILLBILLY...

    I don't blame you. That's fvcking ridiculous.

Not an annoying nickname but I dislike when people spell his nickname as Ollie. I make it an effort to write Oli on FB and in emails and people will still reply with "how's Ollie?"

They may just think you can't spell, since "ollie" is the correct spelling.  "Oli" is not listed as one of the variations.

Not pointed out to be mean at all, its your child and you have the right to do whatever you think is best, just pointing out why they might do this...

  • My sister calls her Ky (first and last letter). She pronounces it like sky without the S. She was calling her KY(like the lube), but after several dirty looks from me, she changed it.

    Sigh.

  • My sister calls him Jellybean head. I know it's stupid.

    a) its long and not a nickname

    b) his head is not shaped like a jellybean

I want to hit her with a 2-hitter quitter, right in the face.

lmao, OK I will concede that KY is worse than "Hillbilly." Yuck!

I told DH Lily may be toothless, but we are not going to start calling her trailer park nicknames. I did not pick a soft, feminine name like Lily only to have him and his mother take a dump all over it. *crosses arms and fumes*

I totally agree. And whereTF does Hillbilly come from anyway?

Apparently because it rhymes with "Lily," that means it's a super-awesome nickname. You know what else rhymes with "Lily?" "Willy." But do I call her a euphamism for penis? No! Why? Because it MAKES NO SENSE.

LMAO. You crack my shiit up!

  • My son is the third generation to be named his first name, but we do not call him by his first name he goes by his middle name.  We make this VERY clear to everyone.

I could understand if someone called him by his real first name, but when they turn his first name into a shortened and changed version it bugs me so much!

  • Not really a nickname but I can't stand when people mistakenly say "Isabella" instead of "Isabelle". C'mon, it's not a hard name to pronounce and it's obvious there is no "a" at the end. The lady at gymboree did this and I was wearing a freaking name tag mine and Isabelle's name on it. It's right in front of your face, lady!

And my finaces mom calls Karter- chubby monkey...we call her chubby BUNNY (because I HATE monkeys!!) or she calls her chunker. Yea, I know she's a chubby HEALTHY baby, but geez, lay off the fat names! haha

    ugh. same.
    I also got Stef-fanny a LOT.
The whole step-on-me thing was so lame.

Having the name Stephanie renders me a lot of nicknames. Virtually everyone I know calls me by a different name, so I just answer to them all:

Steffi, Steph, Stella, Step and then the super awesome "Stacy" which is my sister's name. People also always mistakingly call me Jennifer which is totally weird. I dunno.

    I got Stef-fanny too. ::shudders::

Most people call me Stephie or Step or Steph. I also get Tiffany?? I get Debbie and Betsy when I answer my work extension. WTF. I DO NOT have a southern drawl.

Oh, and Mia informed me last night that I am a super hero and my name is now The Steper. I love that kid. :P
