Does your LO give you a "no more" signal when eating solids?

DD never really stops eating, we either run out of food or I cut her off. I am wondering if I am underfeeding her....she just keeps opening her mouth for more food. She will start to play with the spoon and look around more and then I usually cut her off. She probably eats 2 tablespoons of oatmeal and 1-2 ounces of a purree per feeding.

  • We do blw but when he starts playing that's when I know he's done. I think when their attention starts to go elsewhere.

  • DD will start playing with something or keep turning her head away when done eating.  If she eats all of her food and still seems hungry I will offer her something else to see if she really is hungry still.

  • DD either starts playing with the spoon/bowl or she'll purse her lips together so the spoon can't go in her mouth anymore.

  • She stops opening her mouth and turns her head away. Sometimes she will swat the spoon away with her hand.

  • We do BLW so it might be different, but DD starts playing with her food more and eating less, and she gets more squirmy- tries to climb out of her chair. That's when I know she's done and take her upstairs for a bath =)
