Is now too early? I have a list of peds I'd like to consider, but I don't know when I'm supposed to start calling/if they are going to think I'm nuts if I call now!

I was actually wondering the same thing. At my OB appt last week, the front desk assistant asked if I had selected a pediatrician yet, so I'm thinking that I probably need to at least start looking into it.

With my son I never interviewed pediatricians. I did serious research, used recommendations from friends with children, and judged for myself when we went for our first visit.
I never felt an interview would really convince me either way. The things that were most important to me were sick hours, appointment availability (having Saturday hours), 24 hour emergency line, free advice nurse line, and a group practice.
Good luck - I don't think it has to be stressful, but it can seem like it is.

I think I did research around 30 weeks and did interviews around 34 weeks. I didn't want it to be too far ahead for both my sake and theirs so I would remember them and they would remember me.
My OB told me to have a pediatrician picked out by my 24-week appointment. She said I didn't need to interview them necessarily, but I do need to give her the name of the practice.
