Non Clicky Poll: What kind of bottles do you use?

Do you like them? If not why not? Pros? Cons?

I'm thinking about switching bottles but don't know what to try next. I've already used drop ins and evenflo comfi bottles. The old 4 oz drop ins (which I used in a pinch because I had a lazy day and all the evenflo 9 ozers were in the dishwasher) seemed better for mixing up the powdered formula I just started using. Anyway I was wanting to see how everyone fet about their own bottle choices.

  • We use the Playtex drop ins, Dr. Browns, and an Avent now and then.

  • We use First Years Breastflow.

I love them. They mimic the breast which even though DD is formula fed is the best thing orthodontically for them. They have to apply pressure and suck, the formula doesn't just pour out of the nip.

Pros: the orthodontic nip, they reduce the amount of air so less gas in their bellies, and because of the extra work when DD is full or done she wont drink anymore because why work extra for whats not necissary

Cons: We don't have a dishwasher and the nips are 2 peice an inner nip and the bigger outer one so washing gets tedious, they're also on the pricier side Diapers.com has them for $14.16 for a 3 pack of the "9oz" bottles.(you can fit 10oz in the 9 oz and 6oz in the 5 oz)

  • Playtex drop ins. Occasionally use Born Free but these have a couple extra pieces so there's more to wash.

  • We use Dr. Brown's. I have a TON of Tommee Tippee (washed and sterilized but did not work for us) and one unopened Breastflow. If you want to try before you buy, let me know.

  • Playtex VentAire Advanced, both the standard and wide mouth. We like that they vent out the bottom, not the nipple.

  • I absolutely LOVE and will always recommend the Playtex VentAire bottles!  I use the wide nipple ones because I BF...so they are great to go back and forth with!  DS and DD have NEVER had problems going back and forth.  Also, neither one of my kids EVER spit up or had gas problems.  I say it's because of the bottles I use...but that's just MO!

  • We used Drop-Ins when we needed them for Harris. We've used only Ventaire for Lena so far.

Same here! When we first gave Andrew a bottle the nipple was a bit too fast for him but he was only 2 weeks. Now they are perfect. Love them!  Oh and we also used Born Free. Like those as well but more parts.

  • Dr Brown and we love them. Washing the extra parts isn't so bad when your washing several at a time. We also have a couple Tommy tipee and I really liked them but Jace didn't :(

  • Dr Brown's (prefer the wide ones) and Born Free.  Love them both.  What was especially awesome is once the kiddo gets older and moves to sippy cups, you can just get a Born Free sippy cup top and put it on the existing bottles.  It was so nice not to have to buy complete cups to take up more space on counters and cupboards.  The Born Free tops work with either BF or Dr B wide bottles.
  • Glass Dr. Browns and Drop-ins....playtex I believe....love them both, and easy to use/clean
  • Started with Advent but they leaked like crazy. Loved Playtex Drop Ins. With the baby, we'll start with Dr Browns. Cora had alot of gas and spit up so I;d like to give them a try since we'll be FF.
  • We use the Breastflow ones because I heard they were the best for going back and forth with nursing and bottle feeding BM when I'm at work.  Jason liked them so we didn't try any other bottles with him.  I can't speak for using them personally because I've actually never fed  him with it, but my husband has some problems with leaks when he doesn't get the top on right but that's probably true with any bottle and the double nipple thing is a bit of a pain to clean.  However, like I said Jason likes them, they mimick the breast and he hasn't had any problem with gas and all that so overall they are a good choice for us.
