DS's birthday is this Friday and we are having his party here on Saturday. While I like that my house gets clean, it takes a week to prepare (well, at least it feels like it!). Always seems like a bigger mess is left behind though.
I had no idea how much I would LOVE being the host until I joined my mom's group after Emily was born and it was my "turn" once.
It is a lot of preparation, that's for sure, but I love being in my home, serving people, being in-charge, being on my turf where I'm most comfortable. I'm throwing a Halloween Party this year AND hosting Thanksgiving for four families!!!
We used to love hosting parties before we had a kid. We're great at dinner/drinking parties. I'm not so sure what to do with kids though. I'm not exactly a fan of going to kids parties to begin with, so I'm kind of dreading this first birthday thing.
I love hosting adult parties. It's fun to set out nice apps and all the great glassware and really make the house look nice. Having people with their kids...well, it hasn't been that fun for me yet. Our house is quite baby proofed everywhere and our yard still needs work and so I feel like we don't have a great place for kids to just play free. I know we will eventually since we have a plan, we just haven't acted on the plan. So yes I love being a hostess of aduit parties and hope that will transfer to kids soon. The mess afterwards is hard, but worth it.
I'm the hostess with the mostest! I love parties...DS is still little so I have yet to have a kids party but I'm sure I will love it. Decorating...baking...OH I cant wait for DS first bday!
