Clothes / Bringing home baby

Hi everyone!

What are you bringing home baby in? Let me clarify - are you using any kind of a warm "snowsuit" type outfit? Do you have a infant car seat cover?

Hubs and I were thinking we would just use a baby outfit (long sleeves & footed) with a hat, & put a light blanket tucked around the baby & then cover the car seat with a thicker blanket for the short walk from the hospital to the car (hubs will pull up the car and turn on the heat ahead of time).

What are your plans? Do you think you'll use a warmer "snowsuit" type outfit? Do you plan on using a car seat cover?

Just curious (and bored) here!

    #3 will be in her coming home outfit and then I will be using #2's old carseat cover on top of the car seat. We will only be outside for a super short amount of time so I'm not planning on anything really heavy.

    We won't be using a cover or snowsuit type outfit. The last few days it's been almost 80 degrees here but tomorrow it's supposed to get colder. I'm taking three different outfits with us so we'll just pick from those depending on how cool it is outside.

    It's been cold here (high for tomorrow is only 38F) and the hospital suggested that we do not use the car seat covers leaving the hospital (don't know why) so we will bring a warm outfit and hat and a snow suite type thing (it's kind of like a sack, it doesn't have 'legs' in it) to put him in, along with some blankets ( just in case it's super freezing!!!).  But we also will get picked up at the door, and only live 12 mins from the hospital :)

    I think what you have planned is perfectly fine.  LO's coming-home outfit is a long sleeve top and pants with feet.  We're also going to put a hat on him and put him in one of those fleece prams.  AND we have a shower cap-style car seat cover. Sounds like a lot, now that I write it out.  It gets chilly here and we live in an apt, so we have to walk from the parking lot to our apt, so I just want to make sure he doesn't get cold.

    I noticed you're 40 weeks 2 days already.  Hang in there!  Hopefully LO will come soon.

    I'm gonna start off by saying there are at least two feet of snow on the ground as of today that way I don't sound like a crazy person...Wink

    I'm bringing LO home in a thick fleece outfit, bringing one blanket to wrap her in and another to put over her and I have an infant car seat cover. It's cold!!

    LO will have sleeper, hat, booties.  We're putting a blanket over the carseat.  Granted, it's north Texas so we're walking maybe 10 feet from the building to the car.

    Don't use jackets then stap kid in the carseat- issues with overheating & staps not fitting properly.

    baby has a comfy outfit and a fleecie snowsuit dealy, we are in chicago and it is freezing here.  I also have an afghan that my gramma made, to block the wind on our short walk to the car!

    We are not ready in terms of planning this, but if we were I'd say we'd have a carseat cover. That's what I want to have for the baby anyway because it worked great for my nephews, who were born during a similar time of year (November, but close enough).

    We're dressing her in this and maybe having an extra blanket. It will be cold but we have a garage and she will only be "outside" from the hospital to the car, which is, like 8 feet. I don't want her to overheat in the car.
