And REALLY bad diaper rash.
I don't know if it's from the excess drool from cutting his molars, but Aaron who usually is constipated is now going CONSTANTLY and his poor little tush is so red and raw from all the poo. He woke up at 5:30 am in major pain (he'd pooped and it woke him up) and it took us an hour to calm him/get him back to sleep. He slept until almost 8 am after that, waking because he'd pooped AGAIN. And he wouldn't eat his breakfast and normally he's a piggie.
He's napping right now. He seems so exhausted. But otherwise he's acting normally so I'm not rushing to the pedi yet.
But I'm so used to him not pooping that I don't really know what to do now. Do I give him rice cereal (not that I have any)? Just bread? Can he eat pasta for dinner (going to an Italian restaurant for my mom and brother's birthday)? I don't know. *sigh*
Re: Poop Gate in NJ
oh no!!!
Poor baby's bum!!
if he's having loose poop after loose poop, it's diarrhea and i would give him pedialite and follow a BRAT diet (which should work at the Italian joint if you stick with plain bread and plain pasta). that's really all the pedi will say anyway- from my 2 months in hell-experience.
i hope he feels better SOON.

Oh no! Poor Aaron! And poor you! I remember you coming to terms with the no poop, so this must be quite a change
No advice since my boy has always been generous with the poops, but I would imagine avoiding anything acidic(like tomato sauce tonight) would help.
Good luck!
eta: I haven't had coffee yet so I'm still a bit out of it. I have no idea what could stop him up, but I'd imagine avoiding acidic stuff might be kinder to his bum.

Aww.. poor little man.
Since it's so "no normal" for him, I'd suspect a little bug of some sort rather than just teething. C had it a few weeks ago. Wasn't nearly as bad as this, but his poops are usually pretty solid matter, so that was unusual.
The best thing I've found is Max strength Desitin or anything with zinc oxide. Burts Bees powder is helpful, too, but that might have to wait until the poop subsides a bit.

I hope Aaron feels better soon. Two pieces of advice that helped when Matt had diaper rash from his recent stomach bug:
Milk baths - we used Burt's Bees Bath Milk and it helped soothe his sore bum.
Loose clothing - Matt still wears onesies a lot but we had him in loose clothing and that helped air to circulate.
Air him out as much as you can. Easier said than done with a boy in winter I know. The air will do him good. I swear by those aveeno oatmeal bathes too.
Re: diaper creams. We've tried everything. A&D ointment creates a much better barrier than zinc creams IMO. Avoid wipes. I use my old peri-bottle with tempid water to squirt the poop which usually just slides right off because of the A&D.
Hope Aaron is feeling better.

Thanks again for the suggestions. We had another giant loose poop?not diarrhea but not normal for Aaron, whose are usually pretty solid/formed. It was very gross, actually. I'm not sure what's going on but if he keeps this up, I'll be taking him to the pedi.
I try to air him out, but it's not easy. We'll give him another bath tonight (we're usually every other day) and we'll add epsom salt (per my pedi) to the water.
As for Aaron, the A&D doesn't really help clear his diaper rash. He does better with zinc oxide creams. But I do use it more often (just not when his tush is red).
So poop gate is still on. I just hope it eases off.

This. We used the Kiehl's stuff, and a little went a long way. We still have most of a tube sitting around, that's how long it lasts.
ETA: Hope he's doing better today!
