I have been on vivelle patches for a long time now for this FET and I had my transfer thursday and right before the transfer (wed) we stepped down to 2 patches every other day and last night I FORGOT TO CHANGE THEM! I didnt realized till about 10 minutes ago =(
Did I ruin everything?
Re: PLEASE TELL ME I DIDNT RUIN EVERYTHING!
I really believe we are on WAY more meds than we need to be. They were prob still working, and you were only off by a few hours (not days).
I think the medicine was STILL working. There is a large margin for error with medication, and I am sure not all of it was out of your system.
My gut says it will be ok. You put the new ones on now, right?
Yes I woke up and screamed and put them on right away but it was 16 hours late... darnit Lindsey!!!! Ugh, I am a perfectionist and HATE forgetting things... especially since its after transfer.
Agreed. For it's intended use, they are supposed to be changed every several days so they're not spent, I think you'll be fine.
so this isnt exactly what you are experiencing but when we did our last FET i was on estrogen 3x a day. I was supposed to have the transfer on Fri and the a week Wed before the FET it looked like I wasnt going to be able to do the transfer due to stupid insurance. I didnt take my estrogen for maybe 36 hours - it was maybe 4 doses that i missed. Well, insurance pulled through and we went for an u/s the next day for our pre-op. I was a little nervous that the lining of my uterus wasnt going to be thick enough when they measured it but it was just fine-even after missing 4 doses of estrogen. After that , i was nervous that missing that estogen would result in having a period or the embies not sticking, but neither one happened and we are expecting twin girls in 5 weeks.
iknow that you want to get everything right and that is normal. Im not sure what that patch is used for but all this high tech ART is usually well observed by ultrasound and a good doc wont make a move until the time is right, your uterus and ovaries are doing what they are supposed to.
i just remembered another incident when i was doing the stim for my ER. We were on vacation 2 hours north of where we live and i had to go back home to get my blood drawn. When i got back to our vacation spot, the IVF nurse called to tell me the results of my blood draw. she told me what it was, and said that i was supposed to start a new med, but I had left it at home. She said that was fine and told me to keep doing what i was doing wtih the meds that i was on and said that i could start the med when i got home.the next day.
all this to say that you are fine. dont stress out .
