Baby Names

We may actually have a list - girl names

Boy names were always so easy for us!  Anyway, we have Jack and Ethan, and I posted here the other day asking for ideas for girls...thank you all for your responses!

I think our list right now is:

  • Hayley (or Haley, Hailey????  If you like this name, I'm interested to know which spelling seems most "normal" to you).
  • Caroline
  • Alexis
  • Katherine (Kate)

I would like for the middle name to be Anne, after my mother.  What do you like best?  Other similar suggestions are welcome :)

Re: We may actually have a list - girl names

  • I like Hayley - I've known girls with all 3 spellings, actually, with "Hailey" being the most common.  I prefer "Hailey" only because I'm not a fan of more than one 'y' in a name.  Next would be Caroline.  I don't like Alexis or Katherine.  I know a lot of Katherines and Kates.

  • I like Hailey (spelled that way), and I love Kate.  Caroline is OK.  I dislike Alexis- it just sounds like such a high-maintenance little princess name.
  • I like the spelling Hailey over the others.

I really like the name Caroline- DH nixed it though.

  • I think Hailey is the normal spelling. Your names in order: Hailey, Katherine, Caroline, Alexis

  • I love Ethan for a boy and for a girl hayley...in my opinion its most commonly spelled as hailey.

  • I love, love, love Caroline and Katherine/Kate.
  • Out of your list, I really like Caroline and Katherine (especially with the NN Kate---I love it!).

I'm not crazy about Hailey (spelled this way) or Alexis. They're nice, but a little trendy and dated. Caroline and Katherine are classics.

  • Katherine or Caroline.

Both sound great with Anne. And I really dislike the others. Hayley and Alexis both sound dated to me.

  • I love Katherine (Kate) and Caroline.  Caroline also has very cute nicknames - Carly, Cara, Carrie, Ro, Liney, Care, Carol, Callie.
  • I love Katherine and Caroline.  I"m not a big fan of Hailey, but this is how I would spell it.  Alexis is ok- there are lots of them though!

  • While I'm not a big fan of Hailey, it sounds the best with Anne as a mn from your list.

  • Thanks girls for the help...at least I'd spell it "Hailey" :)  All the responses are how I feel about girl names, just kinda all over the place.  And I definitely feel that having "Anne" as a middle name complicates things, since it's so short, so I'm not 100% commited to using it.  This is HARD.

  • i love the name caroline- but in my son's preschool class and the other 2's class, there is a caroline, anna-caroline, carolina, caralyn, and a mary caroline .....Love it- it's even on our list- but it think its pretty 'trendy' right now....esp down south.

Hailey or Haley ....I'm actually drawn to Halle or Hallie

    Alexis- not so much....

Love Katherine- but like kathryn more. (just imo)

I think Jack Ethan and Anne sound good together, too...would you consider it for a first name?

    Others:

    Ashley Anne

    Charlotte Anne

Elizabeth Anne (this sounds pretty together!)

    Katie-Anne (double name)

    Emerson Anne

  • Hailey Anne
  • Love Caroline!

Would spell it Hailey but not my favorite. Prefer Alexis over Katherine.
