Babies: 0 - 3 Months

3 months old and not..

Rolling over yet ;(

Im not too worried about it though, she doesnt really enjoy tummy time that much although we still try. She will lift her head sometimes but gets mad and just puts her face in the blanket and cries.. She seems to want to flip over though when she is on her back. She can get up on one side but then doesnt continue to go all the way over.

Re: 3 months old and not..

  • I thought babies dont normally roll over until about 4 months.  Am I wrong?  My LO will be 3 months this sunday and she isnt close to rolling over.

  • My LO is three months and is still super stingy at giving out smiles. He has just, as in just last night, started showing interest in rolling over. He was totally unsuccessful, but he was trying. Babies grow and develop at different rates and milestones are just guidelines, not absolutes.

No, you are correct.  What To Expect the First Year actually puts rolling over (one way) as a 5 month milestone.  I'm honestly not sure what the big uproar about rolling over is recently.  It really isn't a 0-3 month milestone.  Don't worry, ladies!

  • DS is 11 weeks, just started giving us social smiles (but still very stingy with them), just this week started noticing his mobile, has no interest in toys and doesn't reach and grab for anything but my finger and the neck line of my shirt.

He has no desire to roll over either.  I agree that that isn't a milestone for a few more months.
