Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I need to start to encourage LO to lay with his heas more on right side due to flat head...

Any advice?

I was thinking of putting LO on his belly to sleep while I am right there watching him and making sure his head is turned the right way... hoping it will encourage him to turn his head that way while on his back...

I don't want him to have to wear a helmet :(

I honestly don't think it can hurt babies to sleep on their tummies when you're right there and awake during the day.  I'd do the same thing if I had that problem... my DS hates sleeping on his tummy, though, unless it's on DH's chest.

Ya, I think DS does too unles its DH chest as well... we shall see :)

    Thanks!

  • DD sleeps on her side & the pedi was concerned about uneven muscle developments so I started switching her sleeping direction.  In her co-sleeper: one night her head is at the head of our bed, the next toward the foot.  It seems to be working,  Maybe change things up a bit?

  • DD sleeps on her belly for all naps in front of us.  We also bought a breathing monitor for her over night.  she will ONLY sleep on her tummy.  Otherwise she is awake all day and night!!
  • I use a toy to lure DS into moving his head to the other side, and then leave a mirror on that side... keeps him looking that way for at least 10 minutes.

This is great to know!! And makes total sense that LO always goes to the left. His CD player is on that side... will try switching it up!
