Hi everyone,
I went to the doc a day ago and he told me theres a new shot called pcv (its a buster) to the already pcv7 4 shots she has received in the last 2 years of her life. Have you giving your toddler this shot and y did you make that decision. doc said it wasnt a mandatory shot so y continue to add to the already long list of shots your dc will have in the next years to come.
Re: PCV13 buster shot ,how many of you out there have given ur dc this shot
We got that for DS in August. His daycare requested that we either get it done of get a deference. We're pretty conservative with vaccines, so we talked it over and weighed it out for a few days. He had his usual immune freak-out. Fever, cranky, horrible sleeping for two weeks after the shot. He's back to normal now. My kid always reacts like that, though.

I don't think my DD has had this. The only booster shot that she has received was the Prevnar.
ETA: I lied. I just looked her records up online, and she has had both:
Prevnar 7 (PVC7)
Prevnar 13 (PVC13)
I didn't realize that PVC is Prevnar.
Yes, DS got the booster for Prevnar13 (at 18 months) even though he'd had his 4 pcv7 on time before that .
Pneumococcal disease is scary- not just pneumonia, but sepsis (blood infections) and meningitis.
same for us
Ditto!
